WELCOME
Welcome to our latest NVIDIA Media and Entertainment newsletter, and thank you for being part of the worldwide community of NVIDIA GPU users within the media and entertainment industries. Our goal is to provide our readers with helpful information on the latest GPU-accelerated solutions for digital content creation and distribution, as well as inside information that might be helpful to you in your work. This month, you even have a chance to win a complete studio upgrade courtesy of NVIDIA and our partners Dell, Adobe, Autodesk and GenArts. Check out all the details on the Pimp My Studio contest below.

Of course, just last week we were very proud that the Academy Award winners for both Best Visual Effects and Best Animated Film were NVIDIA® Quadro® customers. With film festival season in full swing, we’re also doing some exciting things at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, including offering you an opportunity to get some quality time with Oscar-winner Rob Legato at the HP and NVIDIA lounge. SXSW is also a great opportunity to hear from a panel of editors who have switched from Final Cut to Adobe Premiere Pro running on Dell Precision Workstations. Catch all the details below.

Finally, with NAB coming up in April, we’ll have quite a bit of exciting news from our partners. If you’re planning on attending NAB, be sure and stop by our booth and say Hi. As always, we welcome your feedback and want to hear from you. Contact me at GregEstesME@nvidia.com.

Thanks,
Greg

Calling all Maya animators!
How cool would it be if your model was THE reference in the industry for Maya performance benchmarks? The SPEC organization (responsible for establishing, maintaining, and endorsing standardized benchmarks for the industry) is looking to update and refresh the SPECapc benchmark for Autodesk Maya. Part of that effort is finding new models to use as the datasets for the benchmarks. If you have models that you have created and own the rights to that you might be interested in submitting, contact Allen Jensen at ajensen@nvidia.com.
