There are more than 100 GPU-accelerated applications and plug-ins available for media and entertainment workflows, and our goal is to provide helpful information about these solutions and the hardware platforms that run them in a direct and concise format. New high-end NVIDIA® Quadro® K5000 GPUs for Mac and PC
NVIDIA just announced its high-end professional GPUs for accelerating design, animation, and video applications—the NVIDIA Quadro K5000. It features 4 GB of graphics memory and four display outputs, and is available for PC workstations and the Mac Pro, so you can leverage the new NVIDIA Kepler™ architecture on your preferred platform.

Blackmagic Design has now certified the NVIDIA Quadro K5000 for use with Resolve 9.
Resolve 9 brings a significantly streamlined, fast and simple to use user interface that was created to harness DaVinci Resolve’s powerful feature set, and can be used with a variety of single and multiple GPU configurations for the industry’s highest real time performance. Offering 4 GB of internal ram and the ability to be used as a shared GUI and image processing GPU, the Quadro K5000 is an ideal single GPU option for Resolve customers on any platform. Resolve customers will be able to perform high performance tasks, such as working with 4K imagery in real time. With a HD timeline in the shared GPU configuration, Resolve has the ability to play seven nodes of color correction with blur in real time using just a single Quadro K5000.

Adobe Anywhere.
NVIDIA GPUs are driving an exciting new platform that will create new levels of collaboration for video production professionals. Adobe Anywhere for video, an innovative technology demonstration being revealed at IBC 2012, creates a new workflow environment that lets video professionals work together in real-time across almost any network. And, like Adobe Premiere Pro, NVIDIA CUDA-powered Tesla GPUs will drive much of the system’s real-time capabilities.

Adobe CS6 on MacBook Pro.
The newest MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GPUs just got better with the latest update to Adobe CS6 Production Premium (Release 6.0.2), which adds support for GPU acceleration in popular tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects. GPU speed-ups are enabled out-of-the-box using OpenCL on NVIDIA GPUs, but the latest optimized NVIDIA CUDA Mac Driver will boost performance considerably, improving on the OpenCL experience by as much as 40%.

For the first time, hundreds of millions of people watched the Olympics on their smart phones and tablets. They beamed to the smallest screens in the smallest corners of the world thanks, in part, to Elemental Technologies, a six-year-old Portland-based startup, and its innovative use of NVIDIA GPUs.

Brevity Provides Integrated Transport and Transcode Support for NBC Olympic Games Coverage
Powered by NVIDIA GPUs, Brevity’s parallel processing capability can process hundreds of RLE graphics files in just an hour. Using Brevity, NBC Olympics was able to move a one-minute RLE file to an Avid editing solution in under 30 seconds. Brevity also recently introduced encoding of Avid system files directly into EVS Broadcast formats, saving even more time for EVS playout of finished sports programming or segments.
