Bio:
I'm a third year graduate student at the University of Washington's computer science department. My research interests include computational photography and video. Lately I have been interested in the large quality gap that exists today between consumer photographs and consumer video. For example, it is now commonplace for amateur photographers to capture high quality photographs with reasonably priced hardware and edit them with easy-to-use software. In contrast, ignoring extremely expensive equipment, video tends to be of lower quality and more difficult to edit than photographs. My current research goal is to bridge this gap between videos and photographs. Towards this end, I have been working on algorithms for enhancing and editing videos using minimal user effort. At the University of Washington I work with Prof. Michael Cohen and Prof. Brain Curless. I got my bachelors in computer science from Georgia Tech where I worked with Prof. Greg Turk.
