Veynu Narasiman is a PhD student in the Department of Electrical/Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the HPS research group supervised by professor Yale N. Patt. His current research interests focus on designing efficient multi-threaded SPMD (Single Program Multiple Data) architectures for use in future high performance GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), although he is also interested in a number of other topics relating to high performance computer implementation. Veynu received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical/Computer Engineering in 2004 and 2006, and also received a BA in Plan II (a liberal arts honors program) in 2004 all from The University of Texas at Austin. Veynu has received numerous awards including a National Merit Scholarship, the Virginia and Ernest Cockrell Jr. Scholarship/Fellowship in Engineering, an MCD (Microelectronics and Computer Development) Fellowship, and most recently the NVIDIA Fellowship.
