SANTA CLARA, CA—DECEMBER 3, 2003—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today unveiled the NVIDIA Quadro® FX 1100, a mid-range professional graphics solution that outperforms high-end competitive boards on key industry-standard SPECviewperf® 7.1.1 3dsmax-02, ProE-02, and Ugs-03 tests.  Engineered to deliver unprecedented graphics performance, precision, and programmability, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 will serve demanding graphics and engineering professionals in computer-aided design, digital content creation, and scientific visualization markets.

“IBM IntelliStation has selected the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 based on its superior performance and for its ability to help propel our systems to a leadership position in the workstation market,” said Matt Wineberg, product manager, IBM IntelliStation. “By offering the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 in our workstations, IBM IntelliStation combines our continued technical leadership and eServer-inspired reliability with NVIDIA's performance to offer graphics and engineering professionals the best solution to meet their needs.”

Available from IBM in its IntelliStation MPro and ZPro workstations as well as HP in the HP Workstation xw4100, HP Workstation xw6000, and HP Workstation xw8000 early next year, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 is armed with a high-end architecture that is designed to allow developers to interactively simulate a virtually unlimited range of real-world properties.

“The NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 is a testament to NVIDIA’s exceptional people and intense focus on excellence in graphics technology,” said Jeff Brown, general manager of workstation product management at NVIDIA. “Rock-solid partnerships with companies such as IBM, HP, and PNY further underscore our continued drive to provide professionals with the gold standard in workstation graphics.”

Features and benefits of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100 include:

  • Industry’s only true 128-bit floating-point graphics pipeline delivers a higher level of accuracy and the ultimate in visual quality.
  • Industry-leading 12 bits of subpixel precision helps to ensure high geometric accuracy and the elimination of sparkles, cracks, and other rasterization anomalies.
  • Third-generation vertex and pixel programmability allows professionals to simulate a wide range of physical effects and surface properties.
  • 128MB graphics memory powers high resolution digital and analog displays.
  • 0.13-micron graphics processing unit from the IBM foundry in East Fishkill, NY for higher performance with lower power consumption.

“NVIDIA continues to bring groundbreaking graphics solutions to the professional market,” said Jim Zafarana, vice president and worldwide marketing manager, Workstation Business Unit, HP. “With the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100, HP is again able to combine world-renowned graphics performance, precision, and programmability with its advanced workstation technology to offer professionals the very best computing experience.”

NVIDIA offers the broadest professional software application certification program in the industry. All NVIDIA graphics products use the NVIDIA® Unified Driver Architecture (UDA), a set of backward-and-forward, top-to-bottom compatible graphics drivers that optimize application performance, stability, and reliability.

NVIDIA Quadro distributors such as PNY (US and Europe), LeadTek (Asia/Pacific), and Elsa (Japan), as well as other value-added resellers and system builders are also selling the NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100, now in volume production.
