NVIDIA Signs World's Top-Ranked Team of Professional Gamers

SANTA CLARA, CA—JANUARY 26, 2004—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced the signing of an endorsement agreement with Team Schroet Kommando (SK), the world’s top-ranked team in the competitive and growing sport of video gaming. Widely considered to be the best “Counter-Strike” team in the world, the six-man, multi-national Team SK is the reigning champions of the Cyberathlete Professional League® and World Cyber Games. As a result of the agreement, Team SK will train and compete on PCs equipped with NVIDIA GeForce™ FX graphics processing units (GPUs), as well as play a role in the Company’s grassroots marketing campaigns geared towards gaming enthusiasts worldwide.

The SK “Counter-Strike” roster includes: Emil “HeatoN” Christensen, Christer “fisker” Eriksson, Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson, Abdisamad “SpawN” Mohamed, Ola “ElemenT” Moum, and Michael “ahl” Korduner. Team SK members range in age from 17-23 and hail from Sweden.
In 2004, Team SK plans to compete at all major competitive gaming events around the globe including this Summer’s Electronic Sports World Cup in Poitiers, France; the Cyberathlete Professional League Summer Championships in Dallas, Texas; and the World Cyber Games in San Francisco, Calif., where they will vie for cash prizes collectively worth more than $800,0000.
