Brazil’s MIBR Joins NVIDIA’s Growing Roster of Sponsored Cyberathletes

SANTA CLARA, CA and RIO DE JANIERO, BRAZIL─ JUNE 14, 2004─NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that it has signed on to sponsor the top competitive gaming team in Latin America, Made in Brazil Esportes Eletrônicos Ltda. (MIBR). MIBR will compete at all the major competitive gaming events around the globe including the Electronic Sports World Cup, taking place this month in Poitiers,France, the Cyberathlete® Professional League’s Extreme Summer Championship, and the World Cyber Games.
“This is a significant opportunity for MIBR. This is not just a sponsorship, but the alignment of two brands dedicated to being the best,” said Paulo Velloso, founder and President of MIBR. “The team already had a preference for NVIDIA-based hardware, but now we can ensure that the performance levels of our training center are on par with the PCs we’ll use when competing in tournaments throughout the world.”
The MIBR “Counter-Strike” team includes Carlos “Kiko” Segal, Eduardo “Eduzin” Chagas, Eduardo ”Corassa” Corassa, Rafael “Pava” Pavanelli, Rafael “Pred” Velloso and Raphael “Cogu” Camargo.
