SANTA CLARA, CA – March 7, 2000 – Continuing to raise the performance bar, NVIDIA™ Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced that it has set a new industry milestone by being first to offer 64 MB Double Data Rate (DDR) Synchronous RAM graphics solutions. Working with the leading DDR manufacturers Hyundai and Infineon, NVIDIA's 64 MB DDR GeForce 256-based add-in cards are currently available through Dell Computer Corporation. The architecture of the NVIDIA DDR technology almost doubles the usable bandwidth and provides the industries fastest frame rates at higher resolutions and color depths.
"Our ultimate goal is to provide realistic, cinematic-quality graphics to the desktop PC and this new 64 MB DDR GeForce puts us another step closer to achieving this goal," said Dan Vivoli, NVIDIA senior vice president of marketing. "Users can now experience richly textured scenes at extremely high resolution without sacrificing framerate."
"This is the same board powering the Dimension XPS B800R system, which received Maximum PC's first perfect 10 in the March issue," said Sean Downey, hardware editor, Maximum PC. "Dell's GeForce Plus is the first video card to mate NVIDIA's graphics processor with 64MB of DDR memory, which translates into a more powerful memory subsystem than most PCs currently have."
