NVIDIA Graphics Processors Take Top Spots In Mercury Research's Most-Recent 3D Benchmark Tests

SANTA CLARA, CA — February 15, 2000 — NVIDIA™ Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced that Mercury Research found the GeForce 256™ graphics processor to be the fastest in a field of 23 processors evaluated using the latest version of the 3DMark™ 2000 and Ziff-Davis' 3D WinBench® 2000 and 2D WinMark® 2000 benchmark. The stellar results of the GeForce 256 demonstrate its significant lead in performance compared with the competition.

Included in this benchmark suite, 3D WinBench 2000 could only be executed on 10 of the 23 evaluated processors. The GeForce 256 scored 66.2 on this 1024x768x32bpp test—more than a ten-point lead over the second-place winner. For 2D WinBench 2000, a 1024x768x16bpp test, NVIDIA graphics processors took the top six spots. The RIVA TNT™ Ultra finished in first place with a score of 358, the GeForce SDR took second place at 357, and the GeForce DDR completed the finalist circle with a third-place ranking of 356.
