Jen-Hsun Huang Named Entrepreneur of the Year - High Technology
SANTA CLARA, CA. – JUNE 29, 1999 – NVIDIA™ Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) proudly announced today its president, CEO and co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang was chosen as the Ernst & Young® Entrepreneur of the Year - High Technology. The award was presented on Friday, June 25th at Ernst & Young's 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Banquet honoring Northern California's most outstanding entrepreneurs.
Mr. Huang was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year honor in recognition of his achievement in building NVIDIA from a start-up to one of the world's leading suppliers of high performance 3D graphics processors. From 1997 the company has increased revenues 444%; grown to over 270 employees worldwide; and developed a product family that has helped its customers win over 300 industry awards. Today, NVIDIA's products are available from the world's leading PC OEMs as well as through numerous worldwide distribution channels, including: add-in-card vendors, system integrators and others.
Mr. Huang has more than 15 years of experience in the electronics industry. Prior to founding NVIDIA Corporation in Santa Clara in 1993, he worked for several leading electronics companies including LSI Logic Corporation, a computer chip manufacturer, and Advanced Micro Devices, a semiconductor company. Mr. Huang was born in Taiwan, he is married with 2 young children and resides in California.
