SANTA CLARA, CA – JULY 7, 1999 – NVIDIA™ Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) announced today that Re-Volt, from Acclaim Entertainment, was chosen as the premiere High IQ feature title for summer 1999. In addition to providing users with access to the hottest titles, the High IQ program rewards and promotes software developers that provide the best examples of the stunning image quality and multitexturing effects now possible with NVIDIA's 3D processors. Since its inception in early 1998, the Raise Your IQ developer program has provided the entertainment software community with over 5,000 hardware development platforms, in addition to software tools, sample code and hands-on technical assistance.
"Our goal with Re-Volt is to deliver the real feel of driving an R/C (radio control) car. This includes driving through environments like neighborhood streets, museums, toy stores and gardens," said Noah Ullman, product manager at Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. "Working with NVIDIA has allowed our London Studio to develop graphics that solidify the fantasy, delivering realism that completes the R/C experience, allowing us to create a game that everyone will love."
"Re-Volt is a great example of our dedication and commitment to provide developers with the best hardware to build great games," said Michael Hara, vice president of corporate marketing at NVIDIA. "Because of our unmatched quality and support for Direct3D and an OpenGL ICD, nearly all of the artists, modelers, programmers, producers, testers and marketing/sales at Acclaim's London Studio use RIVA TNTs today. The result is a game that works right the first time and more importantly, looks absolutely stunning and is fun to play."
Additional Titles Honored
In addition to Re-Volt, the complete list of new titles featured on the summer 1999 High IQ list, includes: Homeworld by Sierra Studios and Relic Entertainment, Slave Zero by Infogrames and Accolade, Kingpin by Interplay and Xatrix Entertainment, and ToCA2 by CodeMasters.
Each quarter, a new list of the hottest High IQ titles will be evaluated and chosen by NVIDIA. The High IQ program is designed to recognize the efforts of the industry's best 3D software companies and promote their products to the end-users.
The High IQ list and demos of those titles will be distributed through game bundles with participating RIVA TNT2-based add-in card products. Information on the High IQ program and the titles available for purchase can be found at www.nvidia.com/highiq.
