NVIDIA's 3D Processor Sweeps PC Magazine's Editors' Choice Award for Second Year in a Row

Creative's Graphics Blaster TNT and Gateway's G6-450 Receive Industry's Top Honor

SANTA CLARA, CALIF. - November 2, 1998 -- NVIDIA(TM) Corporation announced today that its award-winning RIVA TNT (TM) 3D processor enabled two industry leaders to achieve excellence by winning PC Magazine's coveted Editors' Choice Awards. Gateway and their G6-450, featuring the RIVA TNT-based Velocity 4400 from STB, was awarded Editors' Choice in the professional systems category, and the RIVA TNT-based Graphics Blaster TNT from Creative Labs was presented the Editors' Choice award in the enthusiast graphics accelerator category. The RIVA TNT distanced itself from the competition through its quality features, such as support for AGP Texturing and 32-bit color mode, and achieving the highest 3D and 2D performance scores at 1280 x 1024 resolution. The awards were presented in PC Magazine's Issue #21, dated December 1, 1998. PC Magazine's Editors' Choice Award is regarded as the highest honor in the PC industry.

As reported in the latest issue of PC Magazine the NVIDIA RIVA TNT chip not only "passed the highest number of 3D quality tests", but it also "powered some of the fastest accelerators in this round up and is the current 2D and 3D speed leader". Also, the Diamond Viper V550 was worthy of an honorable mention. As was the Dell Dimension XPS R450 and the Micron Millennia 450 MAX in the Professional PC Testing. All of these systems feature NVIDIA's RIVA TNT 3D processor.
