NVIDIA Launches High I.Q. Program
Graphics Company Showcases Hottest New Software Titles for Award Winning RIVA TNT Processor
For Immediate Release
SANTA CLARA, CA - DECEMBER 2, 1998 - NVIDIA(TM) Corporation announced today its High I.Q. program to identify, market and sell leading-edge software titles that take advantage of the advanced 3D capabilities of the RIVA TNT(TM). The new program, which is co-sponsored by PC Gamer, STB Systems and Diamond Multimedia, is the result of the "Raise Your I.Q." developer program launched in the first half of the year to assist developers with improving the image quality of their latest software titles. The High I.Q. titles are identified and sold via the NVIDIA software store found on NVIDIA's homepage (see separate release). In addition to providing users with access to the hottest titles, the High I.Q. program rewards and promotes software developers that provide the best examples of the improved image quality now possible with today's RIVA TNT-based platforms.
"The High I.Q. program is a culmination of the efforts from leading software developers to utilize 3D processing to create a stunning visual experience for PC consumers," said Mike Hara, director of strategic marketing at NVIDIA. "The new program is a vehicle for NVIDIA to recognize the developers that have continued to embrace leading-edge technology, such as the new RIVA TNT, and to provide our end-users with access to these titles and our hardware."
Each quarter, a new list of the hottest High I.Q. titles will be identified by NVIDIA. All of these titles will use standard API's and will take advantage of NVIDIA's key product features, such as support for AGP Texturing, 32-bit color mode and the ability to achieve screen resolutions up to 1600x1200. This program is designed to recognize the efforts of the industries best 3D software companies and will promote their products to the end-users.
Shogo from Monolith was chosen as the premiere High I.Q. feature title for the winter 1998-1999. Other titles featured on the Winter 98/99 High I.Q. list, includes: Sin from Ritual and Activision; Motorhead from Digital Illusions and Gremlin Interactive; Motorcross Madness from Rainbow Studios and Microsoft; Half Life from Valve and Sierra; Myth 2 from Bungie; and Fremont from Portola.
