FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
GAME DEVELOPERS CONFERENCE — SAN JOSE, CA — MARCH 21, 2002 — Powering the next generation of digital entertainment, NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) announced today that its graphics and multimedia technologies will power more than 100 new applications, all of which are on display at the Game Developers Conference, being held this week in San Jose, CA. This level of strong support demonstrates NVIDIA graphics as the platform of choice for game developers looking to push the boundaries of the gaming experience.
“We’ve reached another milestone this year with a diverse line of products at every price point in our desktop PCs, mobile, professional workstation and Macintosh product lines,” said Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. “The show of support from our partners at the Game Developers Conference is really a testament to the quality and range of products we’ve released this year.”
Located at booth #616, NVIDIA will showcase the industry’s most complete top-to-bottom product line-up of 3D solutions for the desktop PC, mobile and professional workstation markets, including:
· GeForce4™ — GeForce4 is the most complete family of graphics solutions—from the ferocious graphics power of the GeForce4 Ti, the world’s fastest GPU; to the multi-display flexibility of the mainstream GeForce4 MX; to the most advanced mobile graphics available, GeForce4 Go.
· Quadro™4 — The industry leader in professional workstation graphics, the Quadro4 family of workstation graphics empowers software developers to realize their creative visions with the most powerful, feature-rich platform for CAD and DCC applications.

The Way It’s Meant to Be Played™
In addition to showcasing its diverse product line, NVIDIA also unveiled a new consumer logo program designed to alert gamers to those PC games that have been optimized for NVIDIA graphics. Beginning this spring, the NVIDIA logo and “The Way It’s Meant to Be Played” tagline will be featured on retail packaging and in advertisements for new PC games that have been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the power and performance unleashed by NVIDIA GPUs.
Games developed on NVIDIA graphics take advantage of a powerful feature set that includes the advanced nfiniteFX™ II Engine and superior Accuview Antialiasing™ techniques, resulting in a radically different gaming experience for end users. Games played on NVIDIA GPUs feature unique visual effects, richly detailed 3D environments and the most realistic, life-like character animations ever seen – all at screaming frame rates.
“It’s always been our goal with The Elder Scrolls® III: Morrowind™ to deliver a continuous 3D world that totally immerses the player from start to finish. NVIDIA technology has allowed us to realize our vision,” said Pete Hines, director of marketing for Bethesda Softworks. “NVIDIA is the first to deliver high resolution, high frame-rate and full scene antialiasing in a complete family of GPUs, which allows us to bring a breakthrough gaming experience to a wide audience.”
Representatives from NVIDIA will lead a series of tutorial sessions designed for game developers looking to take full advantage of NVIDIA graphics technology, as well as participate in a panel discussion titled “The Future of the Gaming Platform.” For additional details about NVIDIA at the Game Developers Conference, log on to http://www.nvidia.com.
