SOLIDWORKS WORLD CONFERENCE—ORLANDO, FL—JANUARY 21, 2003—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today introduced the NVIDIA Quadro® FX series of workstation graphics solutions aimed at the professional CAD/CAM and digital content creation markets. The NVIDIA Quadro FX series includes the NVIDIA Quadro FX 2000 and NVIDIA Quadro FX 1000 graphics solutions, both of which combine the industry’s first true 128-bit floating point precision with an eight pipeline, fully programmable graphics engine to deliver unprecedented levels of realism and interactive sophisticated real-time effects for content development, visual processing and other professional applications.

The graphics horsepower of the NVIDIA Quadro FX takes application performance to unprecedented heights. Featuring three parallel vertex engines with the industry’s first on-chip vertex cache, eight fully programmable pixel pipelines, and a radically new line engine coupled to a high speed DDR2 memory interface, the NVIDIA Quadro FX product family achieves unprecedented 3D graphics performance—five times faster line performance than the Company’s previous generation products. The combination of high precision and full scene antialiasing (FSAA), with support for resolutions up to 3840x2400 QUXGA, results in visual quality unmatched by any solution previously seen in the industry.
In addition, the industry’s leading independent software vendors (ISVs) have designed their applications to take full advantage of the NVIDIA Quadro FX architecture by enabling sophisticated real-time shaders to simulate a virtually unlimited range of physical characteristics, including lighting effects and even physical surface properties—all of which can be combined and modified on-the-fly, making styling a part of the real-time design process.
