FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SANTA CLARA—MAY 14, 2003—NVIDIA Corporation, the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced that the Stanford Business School Alumni Association has named NVIDIA as the Entrepreneurial Company of the Year for 2003.

The award, given to one company every year since 1978, recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit and success of companies that were founded in Silicon Valley. NVIDIA is the 26th honoree. Past recipients include Veritas Software, Siebel Systems, Inc., eBay, Inc., Charles Schwab & Company, Yahoo!, Netscape Communications, Cisco Systems, Inc., Sun Microsystems, LSI Logic, Genentech Technology and Apple Computer.

NVIDIA was honored at the annual Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award dinner on Tuesday, May 13 at the Menlo Circus Club in Atherton, California. Featured speakers were Stanford Business School Dean Robert Joss and Jen-Hsun Huang, president, CEO and co-founder of NVIDIA.

“We applaud NVIDIA’s outstanding performance and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Robert Joss, Dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. “The company has achieved worldwide market leadership through a sustained commitment to innovation and excellence.”

“We selected NVIDIA as this year's Stanford Entrepreneurial Company of the Year because NVIDIA represents the classic Silicon Valley success story,” said Geoff Yang, partner at Redpoint Ventures and chairman of the 2003 Encore Award Selection Committee. “From start-up to a run rate of over $2 billion in revenue, Jen-Hsun Huang and his team have transformed the 3D graphics industry against all odds.”

“It is a great honor to receive the Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award,” said Mr. Huang.  “When we founded the company ten years ago, we envisioned that 3D graphics would become a powerful and compelling interactive medium. Through our efforts this past decade, 3D graphics has moved beyond the realm of just scientists and professionals, and have touched the lives of millions of consumers.”

Mr. Huang added: “I am especially proud of our employees. Any success we’ve had is a direct result of their vision, passion, and determination to build one of the most influential technology companies in the world.”
