FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SANTA CLARA, CA—MAY 17, 2006— NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies, today announced the new NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 6150 integrated graphics processor (IGP) and NVIDIA nForce® Go 430 media communications processor (MCP) are now available in the HP Pavilion dv2000 series and Compaq Presario V3000 series of notebook PCs. The HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario lines are the highest-volume of notebooks PCs from HP, the world’s leading provider of consumer notebook PCsi.
Thin-and-light notebook PCs have historically had relatively low graphics performance in order to adhere to the low power and thermal requirements required in smaller notebooks. However, new technologies and applications such as high-definition (HD) video and Microsoft® Windows Vista™ require more graphics processing performance than common integrated solutions can deliver. The new NVIDIA notebook solutions deliver excellent performance per watt, enhancing video playback and accelerating 3D applications within the low power and thermal budgets required for compact notebooks.
"Equipped with the energy efficient, high-performance, NVIDIA GeForce Go GPU and nForce G0 430 MCP, the new HP notebooks bring advanced graphics and video capabilities to consumers that will enable them to enjoy the new wave of 3D and video applications in style," said Manoj Gujral, General Manager of the Notebook Platform Business at NVIDIA.
