Ivan Ufimtsev
Ivan Ufimtsev is a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry at Stanford University, where he studies numerical methods for solving the electronic structure problems. His main research project, which started at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a class final project, is centered on designing new quantum chemistry algorithms for GPU type architectures and distributed GPU computing systems. Ivan received B.S. in Applied Physics and Mathematics and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, Russia, where he worked on detection of aircraft wake turbulence.
