NVIDIA:

What's the most popular promotion among your customers (LAN parties, lock-ins, etc.)?

CYBERJOCKS:

"Our favorite event is without doubt our monthly All Night LAN Party. We have held at least one each month since opening, and all but one of them has been a sold out event. We pack in about 100 people, as we often setup a large BYOC section for the gamers who want to show off their rig. The best event ever had to have been our two year anniversary party. We had numerous giveaways from NVIDIA, Corsair, and Redbull.. We also had a 200lb ice sculpture setup that lasted for 12 hours before its collapse!"

NVIDIA:
What was your largest obstacle when opening your game center?

CYBERJOCKS:
"The largest obstacle was initially developing the technology. We developed all of the software and information systems that run the CyberJocks facilities. These systems rely heavily on the NVIDIA Unified Driver Architecture. Without the excellent support of NVIDIA, the high level of automation in our systems would not have even been possible. We have estimated that thousands of man hours have been saved, which really would have hurt the bottom line and made it difficult to continue our nationwide expansion. NVIDIA has really lowered our TCO by offering superior support for their products."

NVIDIA:
What's been the biggest surprise since you opened?

CYBERJOCKS:
"The biggest surprise has been the great community of gamers that we have built. We all expected to make some new friends in the process, but we didn't expect the huge social network of gamers that would join around the facilities. Our goal now is to expand the CyberJocks network of gamers across all of our locations by doing more tournaments, and events between the centers. We want CyberJocks gamers nationwide to always be part of the action."

NVIDIA:
What were you doing right before you opened your game center?

CYBERJOCKS:
"The company that started CyberJocks has been in business for 10 years, and actually started off as one of the first CyberCafes in the US. The time wasn't right back then for doing what we wanted to do, so we took on a traditional role during the years between. We did a large amount of telecommunications work, consulting work, software development, and more for our customers. We had offices in NY and FL to maintain some of our larger contracts."

NVIDIA:
What's the most frequently asked question you or your staff is asked by patrons?

CYBERJOCKS:
"Are you hiring? =)"

NVIDIA:
What is your favorite NVIDIA Demo character (Dawn, Dusk, Nalu, Luna, etc.)?

CYBERJOCKS:
"All of the CyberJocks staff is in agreement - Nalu is without doubt the hottest character. When running the 6800 demo, we have had customers asking if we could remove her outfit. If only she wasn't a mermaid..."

NVIDIA:
Playstation 3 or XBOX 360?

CYBERJOCKS:
"We are all about the superior NVIDIA graphics of the Playstation 3, but will support both consoles when they are released. We are very excited!"

NVIDIA:
How many patrons do you see on an average weekday? On a weekend?

CYBERJOCKS:
"On the average weekday, we will usually have upwards of fifty different gamers come through the doors. On the average weekend day, we will have on average between 100-200 depending on the events and what's going on at the facility. We have had numerous occasions where we haven't been able to meet the demand of our gamers, and had to have waiting lists. Things get crazy in here!"

NVIDIA:
What's your favorite feature of the NGCA (NVIDIA Game Center Alliance)?

CYBERJOCKS:
"There are many great benefits to being a member of the NGCA. The first major benefit is the marketing and promotional materials that are sent out by NVIDIA on a regular basis. The second major benefit is the rebate program that NVIDIA offers on the different lines of GeForce and nForce-based products. Finally, NVIDIA has done some great events to kick off their new product lines. We were very proud to be part of the GeForce 6800 series launch. Not only did we make front page business news, but we also had a huge article in Tom's Hardware. We were very proud to win third place and get five GeForce 6800GTs!"

NVIDIA:
What's the best advice you would give anyone starting a game center business right now?

CYBERJOCKS:
"If you're going to do it, don't look at what other people are doing and try to bite off of that. Make your own vision of a game center and follow through with it."

NVIDIA:
What is your main reason for using NVIDIA-based products?

CYBERJOCKS:
"This is really a two fold answer.. First, the level of technological integration that makes up a bulk of the CyberJocks information systems and business methods would not have been possible to do without NVIDIA based products. If we were not using NVIDIA based graphics cards, or nForce based motherboards, we would have a much more difficult (in fact, nearly impossible) time trying to maintain both locations identically across the country. It's because of the Unified Driver Architecture that we are able to use identical hard disk images in both of our locations (with more locations on the way). It gives a lot of flexibility for using different GPUs and motherboards that we would not have had with any other products out there. A good deal of our information systems are based on Linux and other flavors of UNIX. Even with the cutting edge technology of the nForce4 chipset, we have had no problems getting our UNIX based systems for Austin up and running without a hitch because of all the support that NVIDIA has put out.

Our second reason is really the obvious oneā€¦ NVIDIA products simply kick ass! The performance of the nForce line is unbeatable when it comes to motherboard chipsets. The GeForce line is cannot be beat when it comes to graphics speed and quality. The combination of both products is an UNBEATABLE gaming experience for us, and more importantly, our customers."
