NVIDIA China and Taiwan Offices Inspire Children with Technology

Each year employees in our NVIDIA offices gather together for a community event that has the goal of inspiring the people that they touch – we call this program “Project Inspire”.

Our China and Taiwan offices are very passionate about giving children access to educational resources like technology and developing skills such as speaking English.

Beijing Launches “LoveHeart” Classroom
	Employees in our Beijing office were touched by the tragic Sichuan earthquake and decided to help Sichuan province students who were sent to Beijing to attend school while the Province is being rebuilt. Beijing adopted a classroom in a local school and filled it with computers for the students. The LoveHeart Classroom is visited frequently by Beijing employees who tutor regularly.
Our Shanghai Employees Reach out to Local Children
	The newly formed Shanghai employee committee spent 2008 raising funds to purchase books and create a library for low income youth at the Qiu Zhi school near Shanghai. The funds for the 500 books were raised during an annual employee event and the day employees donated the books they stayed to play with and read to the students. The employees continue to keep in touch with the students and have started a letter writing campaign with 20 of the brightest students of the school, encouraging them to do well and coaching them in their studies.
NVIDIA Shenzhen Adopts School Library
	NVIDIA’s Shenzhen employees recently adopted a school in a remote village of Guangdong (Southern China), refurbishing its library and providing it with new books. Employees collected children’s books from their local communities, and with their cash donations, the library was able to purchase new books as well as bookshelves and desks. The Shenzhen employees also engage with a school closer to their office, where they help the children at the school improve their English skills.
Taiwan Teaches Youth about Computers, NVIDIA Technology
	Our Taiwan offices partnered with Taiwan Fund of Children and Families and the Nei Hu school to host 100 students at our offices for a day of games and immersion in NVIDIA technology. The children played conventional games to learn more about NVIDIA and then sat down in front of several computers for a mind-blowing experience with the latest NVIDIA technologies such as PhysX and stereoscopic 3D. The day ended with a Q&A with NVIDIA employees, a drawing and yummy food!
