Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War To Support Ray-Traced Effects, NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex

The iconic Black Ops series is back with Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War - the direct sequel to the original and fan-favorite Call of Duty: Black Ops. Black Ops Cold War will drop fans into the depths of the Cold War’s volatile geopolitical battle of the early 1980s. Nothing is ever as it seems in a gripping single-player Campaign, where players will come face-to-face with historical figures and hard truths, as they battle around the globe through iconic locales like East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, Soviet-Era Moscow, and more. And beyond the Campaign, players will bring a Cold War arsenal of weapons and equipment into the next generation of Multiplayer and Zombies experiences.

On PC, NVIDIA has collaborated with Treyarch, Raven, and Beenox to bring ray tracing to the game, following the addition of immersive ray-traced shadows to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare®.

Ray tracing is the star of the show once more, and in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War the team has gone all out to further immerse players in the game environments with RTX. Check out our world exclusive preview of RTX powered by GeForce RTX.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leveraging stunning ray tracing tech, it will also feature our critically acclaimed NVIDIA DLSS technology, which uses AI processing Tensor Cores on GeForce RTX GPUs to accelerate framerates, so you can experience games at the highest detail levels and resolutions.

Call of Duty’s multiplayer remains one of the world’s most popular, with millions of fans playing worldwide, and so for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Call of Duty: Warzone, we are working with Activision to incorporate our new NVIDIA Reflex technology. NVIDIA Reflex optimizes system latency in competitive games, making gameplay more responsive, giving you a competitive edge.

“With the GeForce RTX 30 Series, we’ve been able to expand our ability to realistically immerse players into our game world with the integration of ray tracing features,” said Mark Gordon, Co-Studio Head at Treyarch. “We’re also excited about the introduction of NVIDIA DLSS, which will level up performance. We look forward to continuing our commitment to Call of Duty® PC players everywhere.”

In addition to all of the above tech, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will also feature NVIDIA Ansel in the campaign, enabling you to frame and snap unique hi-res screenshots. And NVIDIA Highlights in multiplayer, ensuring your best kills, kill streaks and entertaining moments are automatically recorded and saved.

And as always, NVIDIA will support the game with optimized day-0 Game Ready Drivers, and GeForce Experience Optimal Playable Settings.
