GeForce Garage: Scratch Build Series, Video 5 - How To Mod Your Graphics Card

GeForce Garage , Videos , Guides

The good news: Modding your GPU can be easy! If you’ve got a case window or any rig with a visible interior, it’s a no-brainer mod that really makes your pride and joy pop.

The not-so-bad news: Modding your GPU takes some patience and organization. You’ll be extracting a number of plates and thermal pads and something along the order of 50 screws, so a little preparation in advance will make reassembly a simple operation rather than a nightmarish puzzle.

That’s the process Ron Lee Christianson of Blue Horse Studios is going to walk you through in today’s video as he disassembles, preps, and paints our GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition to match the slick blue design of our custom Scratch Build chassis .

So check out the video, and help yourself to our cheat sheet (PDF) that includes every step of the process from the tutorial.

And keep checking back here at GeForce Garage as we update the site with more videos and cheat sheets in the Scratch Build series, including a how-to on custom acrylic tubing, and our comprehensive Scratch Build review. There’s more on the way!
