FAQ

  • WHEN WILL THE CLOSED BETA START?

    Closed beta sign-ups will begin on January 13, 2022. Selected members will begin receiving access later in January.

    WHAT DOES LIMITED TIME MEAN?

    We’re working alongside the team at Epic Games to develop an experience all Fortnite gamers and GeForce NOW members will enjoy. The closed beta will be limited in time, but we do not have an exact timeline for how long it will last.

    WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CLOSED BETA?

    As part of the closed beta we'll evaluate the experience and make further announcements at a later date.

    HOW WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF I’M SELECTED FOR THE CLOSED BETA?

    Invitations will be sent via email. Invitations to join will be limited and admission to the beta is not guaranteed. More users will be added throughout the duration of the closed beta.

  •

    HOW WILL CLOSED BETA PARTICIPANTS BE SELECTED?

    Access will be granted based on regional availability and device. You must be a GeForce NOW member on NVIDIA’s Service to be selected.  If you subscribe to GeForce NOW through one of our Alliance Partners, please check with your provider to get access to the closed beta.

  • I HAVE A FREE GEFORCE NOW MEMBERSHIP, CAN I JOIN THE CLOSED BETA?

    Yes. The closed beta is open to all GeForce NOW members on NVIDIA’s Service, including free members.

  • I HAVE AN IOS AND ANDROID DEVICE. CAN I REGISTER FOR BOTH?

    Yes. You will have access to the closed beta on either device once your account is granted access. Select both iOS Safari and Android when you join the waitlist.

  • I THOUGHT FORTNITE WAS ALREADY ON ANDROID? HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT?

    Yes it is. Android users playing Fortnite on GeForce NOW will have access to new on-screen touch controls, and game menus. Please visit this knowledge base article for more information.

  • CAN I LEAVE THE CLOSED BETA?

    Once you join the closed beta, you are committing to access only the touch-control version of Fortnite with new on-screen touch controls and game menus on your mobile Android devices.  You will no longer be able to use a keyboard and mouse on your mobile Android devices on GeForce NOW, but can use a controller if preferred. You will not be able to revert to the previous version of Fortnite that was available on GeForce NOW before joining the closed beta.

    ISN’T FORTNITE ALREADY ON GEFORCE NOW?

    Yes, but that is the desktop version of Fortnite that does not include on-screen touch controls and game menus for mobile devices.

    CAN I PLAY WITH A GAMEPAD?

    Yes, Bluetooth gamepads are supported. Here are some recommended gamepads.

    I’M ON THE WAITLIST. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

    Kick-back and relax!  You don’t need to do anything further.  We will notify you at the registered email address if you are selected.  In the meantime, we have a few suggestions on how to spend that free time:

     1 – GET GEFORCE NOW ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE
    IOS SAFARI: Using your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and go to play.geforcenow.com. Follow the instructions to “install” the home screen shortcut.

    ANDROID: Download the NVIDIA GeForce NOW app from the Google Play store.

    2 – LINK YOUR EPIC ACCOUNT
    Open the GeForce NOW app and link to your Epic Games Store account in Settings. Learn more here

    Note: iOS Safari users, you will only be able to link your account after joining the closed beta.

    3 – GIVE GEFORCE NOW A TRY
    We know you can’t wait for your seat on the Battle Bus. Feel free to check out GeForce NOW and all the gaming goodness available for you right now.

    HOW DO I BECOME A GEFORCE NOW MEMBER?

    Visit our membership page and choose your preferred membership option.

  • HOW DO I DOWNLOAD GEFORCE NOW?

    Easily download or install the GeForce NOW app for your selected device. You can choose from the latest GeForce NOW apps right here.

    IOS SAFARI:
    Using your iPhone or iPad, open Safari and go to play.geforcenow.com. Follow the instructions to “install” the home screen shortcut.  

    ANDROID
    Download the Nvidia GeForce NOW app from the Google Play store.

    HOW DO I LINK MY EPIC ACCOUNT?

    Epic Account linking enables single sign-on for Fortnite, which lets you play the game without having to log in to your Epic Games account every time you launch a new Fortnite session on GeForce NOW. To link your Epic Games Store account, open the  GeForce NOW app and link your account in Settings. Learn more here.

    Note: iOS Safari users, you will only be able to link your account after joining the closed beta.

    I WANT TO CONTINUE TO PLAY FORTNITE ON A KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ON ANDROID. IF I JOIN THE CLOSED BETA, CAN I STILL USE THEM?

    No.  Once you have enrolled in the closed beta you will no longer be able to use a keyboard and mouse on your mobile Android devices. 

  • I ACCESS GEFORCE NOW FROM A PARTNER REGION. CAN I JOIN THIS CLOSED BETA?

    Yes.  GeForce NOW members will have access to join this closed beta from a partner service. Please check with your provider.

  • HOW LONG IS THE CLOSED BETA?

    We do not have a fixed end date at this time.
