Behind the Challenge

Have you ever imagined your favorite game characters crossing paths? What would their journey together look like? Well, it’s time to bring that imagination to life as we’re calling on RTX creators everywhere to remix and animate characters from Squad, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, and Mechwarrior Mercenaries 5 using the Omniverse Machinima app.

The contest is over, but the challenge remains. If you’re ready to flex your creative muscles, follow the steps below and prepare for the next contest.

Download NVIDIA Omniverse Launcher and install Omniverse Machinima.

Load Your Content

Build your cinematic using the library of thousands of free assets available within Omniverse Machinima from games like Squad!, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, Mechwarrior Mercenaries 5, and more.

Render Your Scene

Connect your third party apps and tools to Omniverse to accelerate your workflow. 

Use the Omniverse Machinima App for assembly and rendering to create the cinematic.

Share your Marvelous Machines

Share your final render by tagging @NVIDIAOmniverse with #MadeInMachinima. 

Be sure to also submit your RTX creation to our Omniverse Gallery, where we feature work from our community.

Download NVIDIA Omniverse, open the Launcher, and install Omniverse Machinima.

Be sure your system is outfitted with a GeForce or NVIDIA RTX GPU.

Load Your Content

Build your cinematic in Omniverse Machinima using the library of thousands of free assets from games like Squad!, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, and Mechwarrior Mercenaries 5. Or bring your own models or assets that you have the rights to.

You can model or texture in any 3rd party design app and bring changes into Omniverse.

*You may update the source assets in any capacity - geometry, UVs, and textures, but are required to feature at least 1 provided Squad, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, or Mechwarrior Mercenaries 5 character in its original form.

Render Your Scene

Use the Omniverse Machinima App for assembly and rendering to create the cinematic.  

All scene composition, lighting, and final rendering must be done using Omniverse Machinima or any other Omniverse app that provides the Omniverse RTX Renderer such as Omniverse Create or View.

Compositing and final touches can be done in any 3rd party tool you’d like such as Adobe After Effects or Photoshop.

Your submission must be less than 2 minutes in length.

Watch the “How to Enter” video to follow the step by step guide on how to package and save your files.  

 

Please remember to include your full USD package, final .mp4 video, and a 1920x1080 .jpg thumbnail image.  

 

After packaging your files, upload them to your desired cloud storage provider (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and lock in your submission using the form below.  

 

Please be sure that your files are PUBLICLY accessible to anyone with the link.  

 

Head to social media and share your submission on Twitter and Instagram by tagging @NVIDIAOmniverse with #MadeInMachinima.

Contest Submission

The following information will be public, used to promote your contest submission, and visible within the Omniverse Gallery.

Ensure your .mp4, .jpg, and .zip files follow the naming convention of Full Name_@SocialHandle.filetype. Your .zip should contain your .usd file packaged with all custom attributes; follow the instructional video for help. Set cloud storage links to public and submit!
