NBA 2K27 With DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering GeForce Game Ready Driver Released

DLSS evolves today with the release of NVIDIA DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, infusing games with lifelike lighting and materials using advanced artist-guided AI models.

DLSS 5 is available now in the newly-released NBA 2K27. To use DLSS 5 in-game, download and install our latest GeForce Game Ready from the NVIDIA app or our website.

Additionally, today’s driver also optimizes your system for Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

The newest entry in 2K’s long-running basketball franchise is now available worldwide for all gamers, enhancing existing systems, adding new features, and enabling players to start MyCAREER in one of five historical eras, to play MyCAREER matches in co-op with a friend, and to experience a cinematic campaign featuring Vince Staples.

On PC, NBA 2K27 is accelerated and enhanced by NVIDIA Reflex, DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, ray-traced reflections, and on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering.

Visual Concepts uses DLSS 5 to enhance and tune NBA 2K27 to make it even more realistic. With DLSS 5, you can see how light naturally passes through player ears, the natural lighting of skin, and how light catches hair, all while preserving the facial geometry scanned from real-world athletes.

Enabling DLSS 5 delivers a noticeable upgrade for All-Star guard Cade Cunningham, with improved skin subsurface scattering providing lifelike warmth under the arena lighting, and tighter contact shadows bringing out finer detail along his neck and jersey collar, while natural light transmission elevates his hair definition, enhancing overall realism.

DLSS 5 also elevates the visual fidelity of All-NBA point guard Tyrese Haliburton. Subsurface scattering gives his face realistic warmth under the arena lights, casting precise contact shadows beneath his nose and chin. And refined ambient occlusion adds crisp shadow definition across the folds of his compression arm sleeve.

Courtside spectators and staff also gain richer lighting and material responses, with natural subsurface skin scattering and defined contact shadows that elevate the image quality of their models.

To enable DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering in NBA 2K27, download and install our new GeForce Game Ready Driver, load NBA 2K27, and in the Video Settings turn on “DLSS Neural Rendering”, along with your other preferred DLSS and Reflex options.

Combined, DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, Super Resolution, and Multi Frame Generation deliver higher frame rates and dramatically improved image quality. DLSS 5 enhances Jayson Tatum with natural skin subsurface scattering, refined facial hair lighting, and deeper contact shadows across his jersey and the basketball.

With DLSS ON, framerates are boosted to 370 FPS at 4K at Ultra Settings, with ray tracing, on a GeForce RTX 5090

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Capcom’s all-new action game set in a dark fantasy Japan where samurai clash with the supernatural. The story fuses history and myth, following the journey of Miyamoto Musashi, a samurai armed with a mystical Oni Gauntlet, as he battles Genma invading Edo-period Kyoto. Onimusha: Way of the Sword features intense action that combines the series’ signature Issen and Soul Absorption mechanics with exhilarating swordplay that takes combat to new heights.

On GeForce RTX PCs and laptops, players can enhance and accelerate their experience using DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, Multi Frame Generation, DLAA, and NVIDIA Reflex. And by activating the Ray Tracing setting, the fidelity and clarity of reflections are improved.

Our newest NVIDIA app update, in conjunction with today’s driver update, adds per-game controls for Resizable BAR in Driver Settings for all games and apps, Borderless Windowed mode support for Optimal Playable Settings, and a few other user-requested quality of life tweaks that are detailed in full in the release notes.

Of particular note for GeForce RTX 50 Series users is the addition of support for frame rate limiters and V-Sync when gaming with DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, giving you even greater control over your experience.

This feature update requires today’s new NVIDIA app release, GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.64 WHQL or newer, and NVIDIA Streamline 2.14 or newer, which will be automatically downloaded to your system following a system reboot. 

To verify that your system has all of the required components:

• Open the NVIDIA app
• Open the Graphics section and select a compatible Dynamic Multi Frame Generation game
• On the right of the screen, scroll to Driver Settings, open “DLSS Override - Frame Generation Mode”
• Select “Dynamic”
• Look at the tooltip at the bottom of the box - if it still says, “Not compatible with frame rate limiters and V-Sync”, your system lacks a necessary component
• To verify the version of Streamline downloaded to your system, head to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models and open nvngx_config.txt. Scroll down to “sl_dlss_g_0” and verify the number equals “2.14.0” or above

“Not compatible with frame rate limiters and V-Sync” will be removed from the tooltip once your system has all of the required components for the DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation feature update
