  • WHERE CAN I BUY THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    SHIELD remote comes bundled with SHIELD TV. SHIELD remote can be ordered separately from NVIDIA at shield.nvidia.com.

  • WHAT BUTTONS ARE ON THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    SHIELD remote has four navigation buttons (up, down, right, left) and a Select button. It also has Android home and back buttons and a voice search button. To control volume, it has a volume slider. Double tapping on the volume slider also acts as a pause/play button.

  • WHAT FEATURES ARE SUPPORTED BY THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    It contains an internal microphone for voice search and voice commands, two coin-cell batteries (CR 2032) providing up to a year of battery life, and in IR blaster and volume slider for controlling TV or receiver volume. The optional accessory, SHIELD remote with headphone jack, supports a 3.5 mm headset jack supporting stereo audio and a rechargeable battery with a micro-USB port and USB cable for charging. The SHIELD remote with headphone jack does not have an IR blaster.

  • HOW DO I CONNECT THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    To connect it to a SHIELD device, open the SHIELD accessories app on your SHIELD device and follow the instructions. To put your SHIELD remote into Bluetooth pairing mode, press and hold the Home and Back buttons for 3 seconds.

  • HOW DO I KNOW IF MY SHIELD REMOTE IS ON?

    SHIELD remote is always on and ready to use. Simply pick it up and begin using it. There is no need to turn it on or off. Your SHIELD remote will automatically sleep to save power. If you SHIELD remote does not respond to button presses you may need to replace the batteries.

  • HOW DO I REPLACE THE BATTERIES ON MY SHIELD REMOTE?

    On the bottom end of the remote you will see a small circular depression. Press this with a tool (like the end of a ball-point pen) and it will release a tray from the bottom of the remote. Pull the tray fully out of the remote and you'll see two coin-cell batteries. Replace them per the orientation indicated on the tray, then push the tray back into the remote until you feel it latch securely. Batteries = CR 2032 (3V).

  • WHAT IS THE BATTERY LIFE OF THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    With typical usage, your SHIELD remote should last for a year.

  • HOW DO I ADJUST THE VOLUME USING SHIELD REMOTE?

    SHIELD remote provides a touch-sensitive region below the voice search button that extends down to the bottom on the remote. This region acts as a volume control slider. Sliding up will increase the volume and sliding down will decrease the volume.

    Note that if you have enabled IR mode for controlling your audio-visual equipment, then you need to ensure the SHIELD remote is pointed directly at the equipment and without obstruction.

  • HOW DO I SETUP IR VOLUME CONTROL FOR MY SHIELD REMOTE?

    On your SHIELD TV, you need to navigate to the Display & Sound settings, then Volume Control settings. There you will see a toggle switch to enable and set up on IR.

  • HOW DO I UPDATE THE SHIELD REMOTE?

    This is a simple process. All software updates for the SHIELD remote are directly pushed out by NVIDIA. You'll see a notification on your SHIELD devices when an update is available. Once you confirm, the system will automatically download and apply the update when you have sufficient battery life.
