Game Ready For Half-Life: Alyx

Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s much-anticipated return to the famed Half-Life series. It’s the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set after the events of Half-Life, but before Gordon Freeman’s return in Half-Life 2. And it’s only available in Virtual Reality, where Valve can employ new, immersive gameplay, and interactive environmental storytelling where the player is a direct participant.

Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival. The Combine’s control of the planet since the Black Mesa incident has only strengthened as they corral the remaining population in cities. Among them are some of Earth’s greatest scientists: you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.

As founders of a fledgling resistance, you’ve continued your clandestine scientific activity—performing critical research, and building invaluable tools for the few humans brave enough to defy the Combine. Take on the Combine in stunning virtual reality: lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Immerse yourself in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat. Rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells. Manipulate tools to hack alien interfaces. Toss a bottle through a window to distract an enemy. Rip a Headcrab off your face and throw it out the window.

Experience the Half-Life universe in an entirely new dimension starting today. For optimum performance, and smooth gameplay in VR, download and install our new Game Ready Driver. And if you want optimized settings for your system, head into GeForce Experience for one-click Optimal Playable Settings, tuned to give you the best possible virtual reality gaming experience.

Game Ready For NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 In Control & MechWarrior 5

Today, we’ve officially released NVIDIA DLSS 2.0, a big leap in AI rendering that uses Tensor Cores on GeForce RTX GPUs to accelerate performance. DLSS 2.0 does this while retaining -and in some cases improving- picture quality and sharpness.

Already, DLSS 2.0 is available in Deliver Us The Moon and Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and now it’s in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, as part of a new game update.

NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 boosts performance significantly in MechWarrior 5, without compromising image quality

On March 26th, the award-winning Control follows suit, adding NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 in a new update that launches alongside the game’s much-anticipated story DLC. This upgrade will further improve fidelity in Control, while still offering performance improvements of up to 70% when using DLSS’s highest-quality rendering mode.

If you’d like to learn more about NVIDIA DLSS 2.0, we have an in-depth article available to read. In addition, separate articles for both Control and MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries are also available.

To get the best experience possible in any supported DLSS 2.0 game, be sure to download and install our newest Game Ready Driver, which includes driver-side tweaks and optimizations for this revolutionary technology.
