Leading Tech

Variable Rate Supersampling (VRSS)

For the highest quality VR experience, graphical fidelity should be greatest where our eyes are the most sensitive. VRSS uses NVIDIA’s Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology to increase the shading rate near the center of the display. By applying GPU horsepower where it matters most, VRSS reduces aliasing and improves image quality. More than 30 VR titles support this technology.

Everest VR from Solfar Studios uses PhysX to create lifelike snow simulations

PhysX

Physics-based simulations bring VR to life. Destructable objects that fall apart like you would expect, snow that swirls and reacts to air currents, and volumetric fire that engulfs the environment add realism and a sense of immersion to the VR experience. NVIDIA PhysX® uses the power of the GPU for complex physics calculations, enabling effects that are larger, denser, and more realistic.

RTX Technology

RTX Technology

NVIDIA RTX GPUs support a wide variety of technology features coming soon to VR.

Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) - DLSS improves performance without sacrificing visual quality by reducing the number of pixels the game needs to render, then using a temporally stable AI algorithm to upsample to the desired resolution.

Ray Tracing - GeForce RTX GPUs have dedicated ray tracing hardware that enables real-time ray tracing for immersive and realistic lighting, such as shadows and global illumination, while still maintaining the high frame rates needed for VR.
