2018 was a great year for indie games. So many wonderful options to choose from - Dead Cells was a massive hit, along with Battletech and Frostpunk. All three really defined how indie games can compete with AAA games for play time. But don’t sleep on games like Torn, MOTHERGUNSHIP, and Rend - these are all solid offerings in their respective categories.
We’re starting 2019 off in a big way, featuring Insurgency: Sandstorm from developer New World Interactive.

Players can customize their character in Insurgency: Sandstorm, with a diverse set of clothing, accessories, and character voices. They can also modify their weapons with a variety of attachments and upgrades including optics, foregrips, suppressors, laser sights, extended magazines, quick draw holsters, and more. Other features include a fire support system to call in helicopters, drones, airstrikes, and artillery, drivable vehicles with mounted weapons, advanced reloading mechanics, and more. Plus there are a variety of multiplayer modes to choose from to keep players coming back for more.
Players can choose from three different experiences: Cooperative, Versus, and Competitive. Cooperative features up to eight players playing as either Insurgents or Security taking on challenging AI enemies. Versus gameplay pits two teams against each other in up to 16 versus 16 multiplayer matches where teams must work together to accomplish a variety of objectives. Competitive raises the stakes with a specialized 5 versus 5
Insurgency: Sandstorm features both NVIDIA Ansel and NVIDIA Highlights. Performance on the new GeForce RTX 2080 is fantastic, allowing players to experience the game at a smooth 60FPS at 4K.
Response to the game has been extremely positive, with over 4000 positive user reviews on Steam. The press
