NVIDIA Metropolis brings businesses, cutting-edge technology, and the developer ecosystem together to create, deploy, and scale IoT applications from the edge to the cloud. It is the new foundation for frictionless retail, streamlined inventory management, traffic engineering in smart cities, optical inspection on factory floors, and many more solutions for different industry verticals. The rapid solution development and deployment is made possible due to Metropolis rich tools, libraries, SDKs, opensource codes, models and scalable microservice architectures for management environment. This talk will provide overview of Nvidia Metropolis and new possibilities that it creates.

Anomaly Detection- Harnessing operational insights from Video Analytics

iCetana's AI-assisted video surveillance solution is designed to automatically identify anomalous actions in real-time for large scale security networks. In this presentation, Damon will explore how clients are using the insights generated from iCetana to make significant operational improvements to their business, and their bottom line.

MengYing will briefly talk about AI, how Seagate uses AI and present two practical projects - Defect Types Image Classification and Failure Area Image Segmentation. In which, MengYing will talk about the NVIDIA hardware we used and might give a give a high-level overview of Seagate edge platform Athena for the deployment.

Empower Better Data-Driven Governance with Vision AI in Indonesia

By 2025, 68% of Indonesia’s population will live in cities, and by 2030, an additional 90M Indonesians will join the world’s consuming class as they move from the countryside to the urban area. In anticipation to rapid urbanization movements, the governments and enterprises begin to address safety issues, urban planning, tax collection, as well as utilizing AI to relieve operational pain and create a commercial gain for enterprises. Nodeflux was established with its initial aims to help tackle issues of scattered and incomplete data as well as to increase safety issues. By introducing VisionAIre— the Vision AI technology that Nodeflux’s developing, Nodeflux is challenging the absence of adequate report-collection and analytic systems that limit key decision-makers’ visibility into the everyday safety issues. Moreover, VisionAIre is also set to support the key-stakeholders’ knowledge about city management analytics or store analytics, as well as their ability to respond accordingly. Through some of Nodeflux’s used cases, we see how VisionAIre solutions, analytics, and deployments are significantly accelerating the smart city government and business enterprise towards the era of technology 4.0.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Dr Ettikan Kandasamy Karuppiah, Director of Developers Ecosystem at NVIDIA, South East Asia assists innovators, researchers and techno-entrepreneurs to accelerate GPU adaptation for their R&D and software solutioning needs. He has direct experience and passionate in accelerated computing/software research/deep learning, design and development covering end-to-end needs. He also has published numerous publications, patents and software libraries from his past work.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Mr Chua Chwee Koh is Chief, Group Technology and Operations at Certis. Headquartered in Singapore, Certis is an advanced integrated security services provider with revenues of more than S$1 billion, and with a global footprint across Singapore, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar and the UAE.

Chwee Koh joined Certis in 2004 as the Chief Operating Officer, and remains part of the Executive Leadership Team that has grown the group revenue from S$200 million to more than S$1 billion in FY2018. He spearheaded the Lean Six Sigma initiative and also created a shared service centre to achieve enterprise end-to-end streamlined processes.

As the Chief Executive of Integrated Services in 2017, Chwee Koh headed Certis’ foray into non-security businesses. In 2018, he was appointed as the Chief of Group Technology and Operations to lead Certis’ rapid expansion globally through seamless integration of ops-tech capabilities.

Prior to joining Certis, Chwee Koh held the rank of Brigadier-General in Singapore Armed Forces between 2001 and 2004. As a colonel in the Singapore Armed Forces, Chua was head of the Joint Operations Department, Joint Operations and Planning Directorate.

Chwee Koh graduated in 1985 from Birmingham University with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. He later obtained a Masters in Public Administration at Harvard University.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Zhenzhi was appointed Director of the National AI Office under the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office on 1 November 2019. The National AI Office will set the national agenda for AI in Singapore, and catalyse efforts across research, industry, and government stakeholders to apply AI to address national priorities.

Zhenzhi holds a concurrent appointment as Director of Planning and Policy at the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), where she oversees strategy and policy formulation, corporate planning, and international relations. This includes coordinating division and nation-wide R&D issues, as well as gathering intelligence on current R&D challenges and future requirements for Singapore’s R&D landscape. She was formerly Director (Strategic Planning) of A*STAR’s Science and Engineering Research Council, which manages research institutes and programmes in Electronics, Engineering, Chemicals & Materials and Digital Technologies.

Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Medical Biology (Singapore) specialising in human embryonic stem cells differentiation and corneal endothelial cells regeneration.

Zhenzhi graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA) with a degree in Bioengineering and then went on to complete her Ph.D. at Cambridge University (UK) in Stem Cell Medicine.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Paul Chong is the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Certis, a leading integrated security provider with an international presence across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. It has continued to spearhead industry transformation and gained success through the deployment of Security+ for its clients. This year, Certis launched the Centre for Applied Intelligence, a research hub that collaborates with renowned global research laboratories and institutions to develop cutting-edge AI-enabled business service solutions.

Joining Certis as the founding CEO in 2004, Paul has led the organisation in its transformation from a statutory board of Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs to a privatised entity with global presence. Under his leadership, he has grown the business more than five-fold, and has successfully diversified into new businesses to meet the changing nature of customers’ needs while strengthening the group’s core capabilities. Margaret can’t code nor write algorithms; she is not a techie by any means but is intrigued with Artificial Intelligence and its many possibilities that can benefit the future.

ABOUT SPEAKER: MengYing Huang obtained her Master’s degree in Computer Science from National University of Singapore in 2018 and began her career in Seagate in early 2018. MengYing is currently working as a data scientist in Seagate Analytics team to focus on image analytics area.

Over the past almost 2 years, MengYing was exposed to various image analytics projects in Seagate. She built Convolutional Neural Networks with transfer learning technique to classify the images with failed details to the particular defect types. She was also involved in Seagate Edge platform research and development team to design solutions for segmenting images to identify failure modes and locate failed area. And now, MengYing is trying to use Generative Adversarial Network based approaches to detect anomalies from either image or sensor data.

Apart from doing projects, MengYing is also quite willing to share her experience with both inside and outside of Seagate. She had opportunities to be in NUS, NTU and SMU to give technical talks and was invited to be a speaker of an International Conference in Malaysia on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Industrial Applications in 2018.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Tan Peng is Micron Fab 10 Data Science manager. He joined in Micron Data Science team in Feb 2017 after his MSc. of Statistics graduation from National University of Singapore (NUS). He has worked in various data science projects to improve the wafer manufacturing such as equipment Predictive Maintenance and Inline Auto Diagnostics for root cause analysis. He is now leading the team to enable Image Analytics for smart manufacturing in Micron.

Before Nodeflux, Faris gathered a series of working-experience in the area of engineering. ABOUT SPEAKER: Khing Tat is the VP of Sales and Marketing of Vi Dimensions. He assists the Board in defining and executing the go-to-market strategy for ARVAS. He is responsible for the global sales operations, building up global distribution channels, arranging strategic partnerships, and engagement with end users.

Khing Tat has more than 16 years of experience in the Physical Security Industry. He started his career with one of the largest system integration house in Singapore involved in large scale projects for Integrated Security System including but not limited to Access Control, Video Management & Analytics, Parking Guidance and Management, Intelligent Building Management et al. During his stay, he was instrumental in bringing in the first Integrated Security Project in the United Arab Emirates and successfully set up an operation there where he headed the Business Development activities. He then spent 4 years in a leading private security firm in Singapore, where he was engaged for the business development activities for the security consulting business covering the Middle East market and later moved on to the International Business Development unit looking at M&A activities for emerging markets.

Khing Tat received his B.Eng degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2001.

ABOUT SPEAKER: Yudhistira Nugraha is a senior member of the Indonesia Government under the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, recently assigned to Head the Jakarta Smart City Office, the Provincial Government of Jakarta.

He is a qualified and experienced Data Protection and Cyber Security professional having gained a Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and other certifications from the European Centre of Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) of Maastricht University, Netherlands.

He has worked in various capacities related to Data Governance for ASEAN and the European Commission.

Mr. Ron is the Co-Founder and CEO of XRVision, a leading Singaporean Technology provider specializing in AI-based Enterprise-grade Video Content Analytics (VCA) for highly challenging environments. XRVision’s software is leveraging cutting edge Computer Vision, AI, Cloud and Edge technologies in delivering a world-leading VCA solution for addressing complex Security, Safety, Productivity, and Inspection use cases in verticals such as Transportation, Logistics and HLS.
