NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager is a rebrand of NVIDIA Quadro View, a desktop-management application that helps you be more productive when working on your Windows desktop. You can define custom regions on your desktop and easily snap application windows into those regions, as well as create custom user profiles that organize your windows and applications on launch. NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager also includes windows-management tools and hotkey support for quick feature access to further maximize productivity.
NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager is simply a rebrand of the existing Quadro View application. When compared to the previous generation nView application, NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager uses a redesigned user interface to make it easier for users to quickly locate and implement the desktop management features. It has incorporated the most commonly used tools and features from nView to streamline less-frequently used features. Windows snapping has also been enhanced with easily identifiable drop zone overlays on the screen.
In general, it’s advisable to update to the latest application. Subsequent development activities after the rebranding of the existing Quadro View application will offer new features and enhanced capabilities that won’t be backported into previous versions of Quadro View.
In general, it’s advisable to update to NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager. However, some users may want to remain on nView to maintain their current feature set.
We understand that certain users might be accustomed to nView features for their workflow. If you want to continue using nView, you can download it from the NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager release highlights page in the previous-generation software section.
NVIDIA RTX Desktop Manager is packaged with the NVIDIA RTX Enterprise/Quadro driver (starting with R460) and can be installed during the driver installation process (visible through the Custom Install option), or as a standalone application available for download.
