DLSS This Week: Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4® Campaign Early Access, New Game Releases, DLSS 5 Gets Faster

NVIDIA DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering is evolving this week with the release of a new, more performant AI model that boosts frame rates in NBA 2K27 by up to 1.4X.

This enhanced AI model also powers DLSS 5 on RTX Spark laptops, which are available to pre-order ahead of their release on October 16th.

It will also be available in Hogwarts Legacy when the incredibly popular game adds support on November 5th, and in Where Winds Meet, when DLSS 5 support is added later this year.

Additionally, we’re adding DLSS 5 and its new AI model to RTX Remix on October 23rd. Remix is our free modding platform that enables enthusiasts to remaster classic games with immersive path-traced lighting that’s accelerated by DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction. And now, DLSS 5 will give them even more tools for their remastered mods.

We’re also continuing to refine and enhance our other DLSS technologies - today, we’ve released a beta version of a new, faster Performance Mode for DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation and Dynamic Frame Generation that can be applied to hundreds of games and apps via the NVIDIA app.

Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4® Campaign Early Access begins October 16th* for all pre-order customers, featuring our suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies, followed by the full launch on October 23rd that adds multiplayer and DMZ.

In all modes, DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution will accelerate gameplay and enhance image quality. On GeForce RTX 40 Series systems, DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation will further boost frame rates. And on GeForce RTX 50 Series systems, players can activate Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, with up to 6X multiplication, offering an ideal balance between image quality and performance, perfect for maximizing frame rates when using Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4®’s optional ray-traced reflections.

Additionally, NVIDIA Reflex can be enabled on all GeForce RTX systems, further reducing PC latency, making gameplay even more responsive.

Today, via a new NVIDIA app beta update, we’re introducing a new faster Performance Mode for Frame Generation, for GeForce RTX 40 Series and GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, and RTX Spark laptops.

DLSS Multi Frame Generation and Frame Generation utilize two AI models, one that leverages game data such as motion vectors and depth to understand object motion between the two rendered frames, and a second model to calculate optical flow for elements like UI or ray-traced effects.

Labeled “Preset C,” in the NVIDIA app’s Frame Generation override, this new Performance Mode replaces the second AI model with a faster and lighter algorithm to boost frame rates for DLSS Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, with minor trade-offs in image quality. On a GeForce RTX 5060, this Performance Mode for Frame Generation is up to 35% faster.

To apply Preset C to your games:

• Download and install our newest NVIDIA app update via our website, or from inside the app itself
• Open the app, and in Settings --> About, tick “Opt in to access Beta or experimental features”
• Wait a moment for the beta update to download, then click the on-screen message to install
• Once installed, open the “Graphics” section of the new NVIDIA app beta and select a supported Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Frame Generation game (alternatively, select “Global Settings” at the top of the window and apply to every supported game in your library)
• Scroll to “Driver Settings”
• Click “DLSS Override - Model Presets”
• Click “Custom”
• Open the “Frame Generation” drop-down and choose “Preset C” (if Preset C isn’t visible, please reboot your system)
• Click “Apply”

Gamers interested in Among the Trolls can download a demo from Steam ahead of the game’s release tomorrow, on October 14th. In both the demo and full game, players can enhance image quality with hardware-accelerated, ray-traced Lumen lighting, and accelerate frame rates with DLSS Super Resolution, which can be upgraded to our second generation AI model using NVIDIA app’s DLSS overrides.

Targem Games and Gaijin Entertainment’s Crossout Remasteredis a post-apocalyptic MMO Action game in which you can craft your unique battle vehicles from a myriad of interchangeable parts, ride them directly into combat and destroy your enemies in explosive PvP and PvE online battles.

On October 22nd, Crossout Remastered’s entire engine will receive a major update, upgrading to DirectX 12, adding new visual effects, and boosting detail levels for virtually all game elements.

GeForce RTX gamers will also benefit from the addition of DLSS 4.5, upgrading its original 2022 DLSS Super Resolution integration, and adding Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation, Frame Generation, DLAA, and NVIDIA Reflex.

Frozen Trail is the latest, free content update for the super popular ARC Raiders. Featuring the new Pendola Pass map with snowy conditions, puzzles and flash freezes that force players indoors, the update also introduces 3 new ARC enemies and the new Frigate, a new map condition, new progression systems, new gameplay items, new quests and a new quest system, skill tree changes, and more.

And starting today until October 20th, developer Embark Studios is testing a new PvE-only ARC Raiders matchmaking mode, giving players the option to choose between the classic ARC Raiders PvPvE experience or a PvE experience focused on co-op gameplay with other Raiders versus the ARC threat. 

In all of ARC Raiders’ maps and modes, you can enhance immersion, increase responsiveness, and accelerate frame rates with a suite of NVIDIA technologies.

Neural Rendering uses the game engine’s rendered frame, complete with its artist-designed geometry, textures, and lighting buffers, as an unyielding foundation. DLSS Neural Rendering becomes the final rendering stage of the graphics pipeline, infusing scenes with lifelike lighting and materials while ensuring the engine frame defines what must remain, and the artist directs what may change.

DLSS 5 debuted in NBA 2K27 last month, enhancing texture detail, skin subsurface scattering, contact shadowing, hair rendering, and more, bringing the likenesses of players even closer to reality:
