From Tortoise to Hare: How AI Can Turn Any Driver into a Racecar Driver

Performance driving on a racetrack is a highly exciting sport. However, it is not generally accessible, as it requires advanced driving skills honed over many years. Rimac’s Driver Coach enables any driver to learn from the onboard AI system, and enjoy performance driving on racetracks using full autonomous driving at very high speeds (> 350km/h). In this session, we discuss how AI can be used to accelerate driver education and safely provide racing experiences at incredibly high speeds. We provide a deep dive into the overall development pipeline, from collecting data, to training models, to simulation testing using NVIDIA DRIVE Sim, and finally, implementing software on the NVIDIA DRIVE platform. Discover how AI technology can beat human professional race drivers.

Key Learnings from the Jaguar Land Rover Natural Language Processing Development Journey

Natural language processing (NLP) is a phenomenal AI technology with benefits for virtually any business. In this session, Jaguar Land Rover discusses its NLP research and engineering methodology, decision-making processes, and key learnings. The company’s Research and Innovation team is using NLP capabilities to improve knowledge and systems, and accelerate the development of high-quality, validated, and cutting-edge products going into production for internal and external clients. Leadership in AI, connected services, data, and software development is a key element of Jaguar Land Rover’s Reimagine strategy, and we'll start with an overview of the impact NLP can have on automotive businesses and outline current Jaguar Land Rover NLP use cases. This illustrates the power of NLP to help Jaguar Land Rover create the features, technology, and unique client experiences required to deliver its vision of modern luxury, while setting new benchmarks in quality, technology, and sustainability. Then we'll explore the development methodology established, including data preparation/cleaning, model selection, pipeline development, and monitoring/performance metrics. Key results from using BERT, CarBERT (custom domain-specific model) and GPT/Prompt Learning are discussed. Finally, we'll dive into the deployment challenges experienced while applying NLP technology to complex automotive problems and experiences using Triton Inference Server.

Improving Road Safety with AI-Based Stereo Camera Object Detection

Stereo camera and route recognition technologies are critical for robust perception. In this session, Subaru walks through how it uses AI to enhance stereo camera recognition for more accurate object detection to prevent accidents on the road. This session also discusses Subaru’s results from performing large dataset training using GPUs on-premises and in the cloud.

Infrastructure

Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure

NVIDIA DRIVE® Infrastructure is a complete workflow platform for data ingestion, curation, labeling, and training, plus validation through simulation. NVIDIA DGX systems provide the compute needed for large-scale training and optimization of deep neural network models. NVIDIA DRIVE Constellation makes physics-based simulation possible on an open, hardware-in-the-loop platform for testing and validating AVs before they hit the road.

Self-Driving Platform

Self-Driving Platform

The scalable, software-defined NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform delivers industry-leading performance, enabling autonomous vehicles to process large volumes of sensor data and make real-time driving decisions. The open NVIDIA DRIVE Software stack also helps developers build perception, mapping, planning, and driver monitoring capabilities with redundant and diverse DNNs. The platform is always becoming more capable through continuous iteration and over-the-air updates.

Production-Ready AV Platform

Production-Ready AV Platform

NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion is a complete development platform and reference architecture for designing autonomous vehicles. This architecture accelerates development, testing, and validation by integrating NVIDIA Orin-based AI compute with a complete sensor suite. DRIVE Hyperion features the full software stack for autonomous driving (DRIVE AV) as well as driver monitoring and visualization (DRIVE IX), which can be updated OTA. This allows new features and capabilities to be added throughout the life of the vehicle.

Intelligent Assistants

Intelligent Assistants

With NVIDIA DRIVE Concierge, vehicle occupants have access to intelligent services that are built on NVIDIA DRIVE IX and NVIDIA Omniverse™ ACE, our end-to-end avatar development suite. NVIDIA DRIVE Chauffeur is an AI-assisted driving platform based on the NVIDIA DRIVE AV SDK and can drive from address to address. For those who want to drive themselves, it can also provide active safety features and intervene in dangerous scenarios.

NVIDIA DRIVE Map

The NVIDIA DRIVE Map multi-modal mapping platform is designed to enable the highest levels of autonomy while improving safety. It combines the accuracy of ground truth mapping with the freshness and scale of AI-based fleet-sourced mapping. With four localization layers—camera, lidar, radar, and GNSS—DRIVE Map provides the redundancy and versatility required by the most advanced AI drivers.

Open and Scalable Autonomous Vehicle Platform

NVIDIA DRIVE is an open AV development platform for software developers worldwide. It includes DRIVE Software plug-ins that allow partners to integrate their technology with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX system
