GTC AI Conference Code Of Conduct

Every NVIDIA GTC participant (attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, event venue staff) is required to promote and create a safe experience for all participants, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, socioeconomic status, politics, technology choices, or any other personal characteristics. GTC organizers are committed to creating a safe experience, and will not tolerate harassment or discrimination of conference participants in any form. We will enforce this code, and expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe and productive environment for everybody.

We expect participants to adhere to our code of conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events, as well as on our conference digital platforms.

How to File a Complaint

Our staff and volunteers are on standby to respond to any issues. You can reach out to them during the event if there’s a situation you believe should be addressed.

If you’re being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact any member of our conference staff immediately, or email GTC_registration@nvidia.com. If you'd prefer to remain anonymous or don’t require immediate action during the event, you may also file a formal report anonymously through NVIDIA’s third-party confidential hotline. Reports made during the conference will be responded to within 24 hours; those at other times in less than two weeks.

Forms of harassment and discriminatory behavior include but are not limited to:

  • Bullying
  • Personal attacks or diminutive characterizations
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other proceedings
  • Sexual language and imagery
  • Sexist, racist, and exclusionary jokes, and acts that insult or belittle other participants in any way
  • Offensive verbal comments
  • Deliberate intimidation
  • Stalking and following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention
  • Unwarranted direct messages
  • Doxing or revealing personal information

Consequences of Violating our Code of Conduct

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refunds, barring them from participation in future conferences, reporting the incident to the offender’s local institution or funding agencies, or reporting the incident to local law enforcement. A response of "just joking" will not be accepted; behavior can be harassing without an intent to offend. If action is taken, an appeals process will be made available.

A note to sponsors: Sponsors should not use images, activities, or other materials that are of a sexual, racial, or otherwise offensive nature. Sponsor representatives and staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes or otherwise create a sexualized environment. This code applies both to official sponsors as well as any organization that uses the conference name as branding.

Also, please read the GTC Diversity and Inclusion statement. This code of conduct has been developed with guidance from the Geek Feminism wiki and other organizations. Updated: October 2023.
