About NVIDIA
NVIDIA Grid Technology. Graphics-Accelerated Virtual Desktops and Applications.
The GRID software library is a suite of technologies that enables GPU-based virtualized solutions—including graphics enablement in hypervisors—and accelerated remote streams to end users. These technologies improve the performance of virtualized desktops and applications effectively and economically.

GPU virtualization is a key element of GRID-enabled solutions. A GRID-enabled hypervisor allows access to the GRID K1 and K2 in virtualized environments while managing the GPU resources, so users can share common hardware for improved user density.
A virtual desktop sitting in a remote data center requires the fastest possible remoting solution to deliver end-user experiences comparable to dedicated PCs. The GRID software enables virtual desktop solutions to capture and encode remote streams directly in the GRID GPU hardware, delivering a local desktop feel with dramatically reduced latency.
