Conventional ADAS technology can detect some objects, do basic classification, alert the driver of hazardous road conditions, and in some cases, slow or stop the vehicle. This level of ADAS is great for things like blind spot monitoring, lane change assistance, and forward collision warnings.

NVIDIA DRIVE™ PX takes driver assistance to the next level. DRIVE PX is built to tap into a technology called “deep learning” and includes a new deep neural network software development kit called DIGITS.

DIGITS is a deep learning training system that lets computers train themselves to understand objects in the world around them.

With NVIDIA DRIVE PX and DIGITS, a vehicle’s ADAS can pick out different kinds of vehicles. It can discern a police car from a taxi; an ambulance from a delivery truck; or a parked car from one that is about to pull out into traffic. That capability isn’t limited to vehicles. NVIDIA DRIVE can identify everything from cyclists on the sidewalk to absent-minded pedestrians.
