FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SANTA CLARA, CA — MARCH 18, 2002 — NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced that WinBook Corporation has chosen the NVIDIA GeForce2™ Go mobile Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for its newest notebook—the WinBook N4. Pairing NVIDIA’s award-winning GeForce2 Go graphics prowess with the new Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 processor allows WinBook N4 users to maximize their mobile computing experience through superb performance while addressing the desire for controlling power consumption. This is the fifth Pentium 4 mobile design win the Company has achieved.
“The new WinBook N4 offers business users everything needed to work faster, smarter, and leaner. NVIDIA’s GeForce2Go mobile GPU—with its high performance, low power and flexible design—is the perfect complement to the WinBook N4’s expansive 15-inch displays. Users find graphics are more vivid and text is sharper and easier to read,” said Richard Mershad, WinBook President. “By adding NVIDIA to our ‘ready-4-business’ N4 - we are ensuring that power users are equipped with the performance that is synonymous with WinBook.”
“Inclusion of the GeForce2 Go in the WinBook N4 allows NVIDIA to extend its reach into the notebook market for the business professional whose primary concern is balancing raw performance while consuming minimal power,” stated Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. “In addition, the GeForce2 Go’s support for multi-monitor desktop configurations and single unified driver architecture dramatically reduces IT workloads and overhead.”
Setting new standards for mobile 2D, 3D and multimedia graphics performance, the GeForce2 Go is the world’s first mobile graphics processor to support transform and lighting in hardware, delivering breakthrough 3D rendering power, up to ten times faster than typical notebook graphics. By combining NVIDIA’s superior graphic technologies with dynamic, industry-low power consumption, the GeForce2 Go has raised the graphics performance bar in notebooks to levels that were previously thought impossible. GeForce2 Go also provides a full feature set previously only available on desktop GPUs including per-pixel shading and Digital Vibrance Control for clean, bright, crisp visuals. Business users will benefit from the flexibility of multiple displays courtesy of NVIDIA’s nView Multi-display Technology and NVIDIA’s Unified Driver Architecture
