SAP Executives Spotlight

At SAPPHIRE NOW 2017, NVIDIA and SAP announced its joint partnership to use machine learning to form intelligent enterprises. Take a look at what SAP’s leaders think about this partnership and why they believe in the technology breakthrough:

Plattner called out NVIDIA as the essential technology for machine intelligence. He described how machine learning is changing enterprises and SAP’s commitment to working with NVIDIA to deliver intelligent applications together.

— Hasso Plattner, Co-founder and Chairman, SAP

With strong partners like NVIDIA at our side, the possibilities are limitless. New applications, unprecedented value in existing applications, and easy access to machine learning services will allow you to make your own enterprise intelligent.

— Juergen Mueller, Chief Innovation Officer, SAP

In our evaluation of TensorRT running our deep learning–based recommendation application on NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs, we experienced a 45X increase in inference speed and throughput compared with a CPU-based platform. We believe TensorRT could dramatically improve productivity for our enterprise customers.

— Markus Noga, Vice President of Machine Learning, SAP

DGX Station is very quiet in the office, thanks to its liquid cooling. And it’s superfast; it boosted the speed of our deep learning training by 170 times.

— Frank Wu, Head of the Machine Learning Business Network, SAP Leonardo Machine Learning

We evaluated DGX-1 with the new Tesla V100 32GB for our SAP Brand Impact application, which automatically analyzes brand exposure in videos in near real time. The additional memory improved our ability to handle higher-definition images on a larger ResNet-152 model, reducing error rates by 40 percent on average. This results in accurate, timely, and auditable services at scale.

— Michael Kemelmakher, Head of SAP Machine Learning Computer Vision
