| Benefits BENEFITS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY It's no secret that NVIDIA employees work hard developing the world's best 3D technology. In turn, NVIDIA works hard to deliver a comprehensive benefits package. We provide not only the basics - health care coverage, life and disability protection, pre-tax savings opportunities, etc. -- but we also offer many "extras" that you may not find at other employers. These benefits have helped NVIDIA to be recognized as a "Fastest Growing Tech Company" by WIRED & Business 2.0, and as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" by Fortune Magazine. What really sets the NVIDIA Benefits Program apart is our willingness to listen to employee suggestions, try new things, and go above and beyond the “norm” to see how we can best support our employees (and their family members) as they strive to balance their personal and professional lives. HEALTH CARE BENEFITS NVIDIA values the health and well being of our employees, and offers comprehensive health care coverage to all eligible employees. This coverage includes:
If you need coverage for your dependents (spouse or partner and/or children or domestic partner's children), NVIDIA helps here, too, by paying the majority of the cost of the coverage. Two Great-West Medical plan options are available throughout the U.S. and include:
All of the Plans provide comprehensive coverage and enable you to access routine care (doctor's visits, well-baby checkups, etc.) and pay only a $10 co-payment. The Plans also provide benefits for prescription drugs, and cover chiropractic and acupuncture care. Dental coverage is provided through The Guardian and includes benefits for preventive dental care (at no cost to you). Major care and orthodontia services are also covered, with the Plan paying from 50% to 90% of the cost, depending on the type of service you obtain and the provider you use. You can obtain an annual eye exam and prescription lenses, for just a $10 co-payment under NVIDIA's Vision Plan, provided through VSP. Frames are available every 24 months. (Or you may choose contact lenses in lieu of lenses and frames.) The Vision Plan also allows you to obtain a pair of eyeglasses specifically for computer work at a cost of just $10. To Summarize... NVIDIA pays for the majority of the cost of your health care coverage. The Plans are designed to help you take good care of yourself and your family members - by offering preventive care benefits at little or no cost to you - while providing the financial protection you need in the event you require more major care. Don't Need Health Care Coverage? If you don't need health care coverage under the NVIDIA program because you have coverage elsewhere - for example, you are covered (or can be covered) under your spouse's employer's plan - you can decline health care coverage and receive a cash rebate. SURVIVOR & DISABILITY BENEFITS NVIDIA doesn't want you to worry about your family if you become seriously ill or injured. That's why the Company provides:
...all at no cost to you. FINANCIAL BENEFITS We can all use more money! Look no further than the NVIDIA Benefits Program. By participating in any of these programs, NVIDIA employees can reduce their taxes - and that's just like getting free money, isn't it? Pre-Tax Premiums: If your health care coverage decisions require you to make a premium contribution, those contributions would be deducted from your pay on a pre-tax basis. That means the actual cost is less than the scheduled contribution amount. (Due to IRS regulations, contributions made for a domestic partner's, or a partner's childrens' coverage, may not be deducted pre-tax.) 401(k) Retirement Plan: Through this Plan, you may set aside up to 80% of your salary (to the annual IRS limits) in either a pre-tax (traditional plan) or post-tax basis (Roth Basic Plan). You may then invest your money in one or more of the available investment options. Your contributions and investments accumulate on a tax-deferred basis. 529 College Savings Plan: Through this Plan, you may contribute up to $11,000 per year, for a total of $330,690 per child or beneficiary, to be used for tuition, room and board, books, fees, supplies and equipment at any accredited college, university or graduate school. All contributions are post-tax monies, and your contributions grow tax deferred. As the account owner, you retain control over the assets. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs): NVIDIA's FSAs allow you to pay for certain eligible health care and/or dependent day care expenses with tax-free money. You can set aside up to $5,000 to the Health Care FSA and a maximum of $5,000 to the Dependent Care FSA, each year, depending on your marital and tax-filing status. Pay for your expenses with the FlexCard and avoid having to submit receipts! Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP): The ESPP allows you to purchase shares of NVIDIA common stock at a 15% discount! New hires may be eligible for a new hire stock option grant. In addition, top performers and contributors may be eligible for follow-on grant consideration after one year of service. TIME OFF BENEFITS Working hard is the NVIDIA way. At the same time, the Company recognizes that everyone needs to take time off now and again, whether you need to relax and rejuvenate, recuperate from an illness or injury, or attend to personal business. Of course, everyone's needs are different. That's why the NVIDIA time off benefits are flexible. Paid Time Off: If you join NVIDIA, you'll accrue 15 PTO days during your first year of employment. That's three weeks to use as you wish. For each additional year that you're with the Company, you will accrue an additional day, up to a maximum annual allotment of 20 days. For those employees who want to save up for that long-awaited summer vacation or some other major event, NVIDIA allows employees to accrue up to 35 days of PTO. In addition, if you stop accruing PTO because you hit the maximum accrual limit, NVIDIA allows you to "buy back" some of your PTO. Holidays: Each year, NVIDIA observes ten fixed holidays. If you’re hired prior to October 1st, you’ll also receive one floating holiday to be used at your discretion. Leaves of Absence: NVIDIA adheres to all federal and state laws in providing various types of leaves. The Company also enables employees to take unpaid personal leaves of up to one year, provides one week of paid paternity/adoptive leave, and bereavement leave of up to five days. OTHER BENEFITS To help you balance the demands placed on you at work and in your personal life, NVIDIA offers a variety of other benefits. NVIDIA provides its employees with personal support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP provides you and your dependents with five free, confidential, counseling visits, per incident, per year. To help you and your family navigate the healthcare system, NVIDIA offers Health Advocate. This special benefit will help you with clinical and administrative issues involving your medical, pharmacy, dental, vision and other healthcare needs. Through NVIDIA's Supplemental Life Insurance Plan, you may obtain additional life insurance coverage for yourself and/or life insurance coverage for your spouse or children). The Long-Term Care Plan, offered by John Hancock, provides financial protection and peace of mind in the event you or a family member needs extended medical care. This coverage is available for you, your spouse, your parents, in-laws, grandparents or grandparents-in-law. The Hyatt Legal MetLaw Plan offers easy access to qualified attorneys at an affordable price. Plan services can be accessed via telephone, in-office or on-line. NVIDIA knows that educating your child can be a very stressful and time-consuming task for you and your whole family. To help with this, NVIDIA has partnered with College Coach, an organization with an expertise in assisting employees and their families through important educational challenges. And, of course, the Company has an Educational Assistance Program. NVIDIA's educational assistance includes tuition reimbursement for traditional undergraduate and graduate school programs, as well as the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD). To encourage employees to help us find other talented people like themselves, NVIDIA sponsors an Employee Referral Program. Employees who present qualified candidates that are hired by NVIDIA, and work for a minimum of 90 days, receive a $2,500 bonus. What really sets NVIDIA apart are the many other benefits and services provided. For example, we offer:
Listing all of NVIDIA's "other benefits" isn't easy because things are always changing as the Company seeks to continue delivering the highest quality of benefits to our employees.
