Our partnerships with Academia are one key way that we stay connected with the latest developments in our research areas, and also where we meet the next generation of researchers. NVResearch is a member/sponsor of several collaborative academic research programs:
Aspire UC Berkeley
Center for Advanced Electronics Through Machine Learning (CAEML)
Consortium for Vision and Virtual Reality (CV2R)
Stanford Center for Image Systems Engineering (SCIEN)
KAYVON FATAHALIAN
CMU
Kayvon’s research focuses on the design of efficient parallel systems for computer-intensive applications such as interactive computer graphics.
VIVIENNE SZE
MIT
Vivienne’s research focuses on joint design of algorithms, architectures and circuits to build energy efficient and high performance systems.
DAVID BROOKS
HARVARD
David contributes in the areas of computer architecture and VLSI design methodology.
GU-YEON WEI
Gu-Yeon contributes in the areas of computer architecture and VLSI design methodology.
UC Berkeley’s ASPIRE (Algorithms and Specializers for Provably Optimal Implementations with Resilience and Efficiency) is a five-year collaborative effort attacking the challenges of a new era, where pervasive application-specific specialization of software and hardware is the only path to computational efficiency. The goal is to allow future applications to be developed rapidly but run with utmost efficiency by automatically exploiting specialization cutting across all layers of the software and hardware stack.
CAEML (the Center for Advanced Electronics through Machine Learning) is a partnership between North Carolina State University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Georgia Tech. The center aims to speed up design and verification of microelectronic circuits and systems, reducing development costs and time-to-market for manufacturers of microelectronic products, especially integrated circuits, by leveraging machine-learning techniques to develop new models for electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
We are a Diamond Sponsor of CV2R at the University of North Carolina. The Consortium for Vision and Virtual Reality (CV2R) is a consortium bringing government and industry to partner with UNC in advancing research and technologies.
We are an affiliate member of SCIEN, the Stanford Center for Image Systems Engineering. SCIEN is a partnership between the Stanford School of Engineering and technology companies developing imaging systems for the enhancement of human communication. The mission of SCIEN is to support multidisciplinary training, research and collaboration on technologies leading to novel imaging systems that include the capture, processing, transmission and rendering of visual information.
Gu-Yeon Wei contributes in the areas of computer architecture and VLSI design methodology.
