Felix Heide

Hometown: Netphen, Germany
University of British Columbia

Research:  Felix's interests are focused around numerical optimization methods for large scale inverse problems in computational imaging and vision. He is using GPUs to enable otherwise prohibitive algorithms for statistically motivated image and vision reconstruction tasks such as Non-line-of-sight imaging using Time-of-flight sensors, where the goal is to "make the invisible visible".

Bio: Felix Heide has been a PhD student at the University of British Columbia since 2012.  He works in the Imager lab in Wolfgang Heidrich's Physical Simulation and Measurement group. Before joining Imager lab he was a student in the group of Andreas Kolb.
