Rust with NVIDIA DLSS Out Now: Boost Performance By Up To 50% at 4K

Today, Rust receives its latest round of content and feature enhancements, which continue to make the game better and better. And included with the update is the introduction of NVIDIA DLSS, which’ll boost system performance by up to 50%, while maintaining comparable image quality to native resolution rendering. In fact, in many instances, DLSS improves upon Rust’s previous anti-aliasing options, with reduced temporal aliasing, superior detail in the distance, and improved anti-aliasing on the game’s massive amount of foliage. If you’re unfamiliar with NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), it’s a groundbreaking AI rendering technology that increases graphics performance using dedicated Tensor Core AI processors on GeForce RTX GPUs. To enable DLSS in Rust, download and install our latest Game Ready Driver, download the Rust update when released at 11 AM PT, then adjust settings in the Options > Graphics menu.

In our testing, frame rates increased by up to 50% at 4K with DLSS. Faster performance gives you smoother gameplay, or if you love eye candy, the headroom to crank up detail levels and rendering resolutions.

Also, be sure to enable NVIDIA Reflex in the options menu, if it isn’t already activated. NVIDIA Reflex reduces latency by up to 38% in Rust, whilst maintaining your frame rate, so whenever it’s available it’s always beneficial to enable. Lower latency reduces the delay between a mouse click and a weapon firing in-game, reduces peeker’s advantage, and increases your chance at victory, giving you a more responsive experience that’ll make you more competitive online.
