The GeForce2 MX family now includes two new GPUs--the original GeForce2 MX (128-bit SDR/64-bit DDR/64-bit SDR solutions); the GeForce2 MX 200 (64-bit SDR solution); and the GeForce2 MX 400 (64-bit DDR/128-bit SDR) – for the most cost-effective, flexible graphics solutions available.
Based on the award-winning GeForce2 MX architecture, introduced in June 2000, GeForce2 MX 200 and 400 each are designed specifically to meet the needs of the volume PC market. Featuring NVIDIA's patented Digital Vibrance Control and the TwinView display architecture, the GeForce2 MX 200 and 400 also include advanced visual features, such as hardware transform and lighting and per-pixel shading, and provide GeForce 2 - level performance, all at mainstream prices. This rich feature set, combined with low cost, truly makes the GeForce2 MX 200 and 400 a family of GPUs for the masses.
For greater manageability and stability, the GeForce2 MX family of GPUs is based on NVIDIA's unified driver architecture (UDA). Through UDA, GeForce2 MX 200 and 400 are binary compatible with past, present, and future NVIDIA GPUs, as well as top-to-bottom compatible with all currently manufactured versions of NVIDIA's graphics processors. This simplifies system administration and is a key element of managing cost-of-ownership or PC life-cycle costs. Only NVIDIA offers this level of compatibility.
The GeForce2 MX 200 and 400 will be available from numerous OEMs and add-in card manufacturers in 30 to 60 days.
