FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SANTA CLARA, CA - DECEMBER 10, 2001 - In recognition of its increasing momentum in 2001, NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a publicly held fabless company focusing on advanced graphics and multimedia processing technologies, was honored by the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) for its outstanding accomplishments made during the year. NVIDIA was voted by the FSA and its members as the Most Respected Public Fabless Company and also earned the distinction of the Best Financially Managed Company. In addition, the FSA honored the Company for its achievement as the fastest U.S.-based semiconductor company to hit $1 billion in revenues. The seventh annual award gala and dinner celebration was held December 6th at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
"2001 was a landmark year for NVIDIA," stated Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at NVIDIA. "These awards highlight our achievements - which were all made possible by the hard-work and dedication of our employees."
The awards were determined from the results of a questionnaire sent to the fabless semiconductor community and industry and financial analysts. The Best Financially Managed Company was determined by the FSA and financial analysts who evaluate the health of public fabless semiconductor companies traded on the U.S. Exchanges by comparing financial indices such as return on investment, return on equity, inventory turns, days sales outstanding, cash per share, sales per employee and current ration. For the Most Respected Public Fabless Company award, the fabless community and semiconductor financial and industry analysts and suppliers are asked to select one public fabless company they most respect in terms of product, vision, strategy and future opportunities. NVIDIA was also recognized for becoming the fastest semiconductor company to hit $1 billion in revenues - a feat accomplished in 33 quarters.
