For Immediate Release:

SANTA CLARA, CA — DEC. 11—NVIDIA® Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced that its award-winning GeForce3™ Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) has received an Editors’ Choice Award for “Acceleration Product” from Macworld magazine.  In the 17th annual review of the products that help Mac users work and play, Macworld recognized GeForce3 as the most advanced graphics processors on the planet.

“NVIDIA’s GeForce3 is one of today's most advanced graphics processors--and it came to the Mac first,” Macworld magazine reported.  “With 57 million transistors in its graphics-processing unit, it's more complex than the G4 processors that drive today's Macs. It even includes a feature called the nfiniteFX engine that allows game developers to add custom real-time effects to their titles. Hard-core gamers and 3-D professionals shouldn't pass this one up.”

“NVIDIA set out to provide a catalyst for a new graphics revolution on the Mac platform,” said Dan Vivoli, vice president of marketing at NVIDIA.  “This high honor from Macworld validates the fact that the GeForce3 GPU is the ultimate graphics solution for Macintosh users.”

The Editors’ Choice awards are given to software and hardware products in 25 categories. Macworld's editors surveyed every Mac product released between November 1, 2000, and November 1, 2001, to determine nominees and winners in each category. Winners are recognized not only for their overall quality but also for their creators' willingness to lead users in new directions.
