The NVIDIA Foundation is one of the only employee-led foundations in Silicon Valley. Each year, an employee board of directors receives feedback from our global employee population regarding the issues they care most about addressing, and puts together an exciting set of programs that leverages NVIDIA's unique strengths as a company:
- Having a transformative impact
- Engaging our employees
- Leveraging our ecosystem of customers, suppliers and vendors

Operation Kizuna Grant Recipient Announced
In March 2011, over 50% of NVIDIA employees donated $2 million to help victims of the Japan earthquake in tsunami. The Foundation recently announced a decision for investing the funds. Our plan is to help revitalize the economy in targeted areas of northeastern Japan by investing in micro- and small-sized businesses. Our investment will put 265 small enterprises back in business, provide employment to 1,300. With our partner Mercy Corps we'll be able to provide startup grants for entrepreneurs, subsidies so businesses can rehire previous employees, and subsidized loans for businesses that need larger amounts for equipment and infrastructure. The first grants and loans will begin to be made in March. |

NVIDIANs Grow Mo's to Support Cancer Awareness
During the month of “Movember”, over 100 employees across the Santa Clara, Austin and UK offices raised funds and awareness for men’s cancers by growing moustaches. This global team collected over $37,000 for the Movember organization to support important education, survivorship and research programs. We hope to increase these Mo-growing efforts next year with participation from more offices around the world. |

NVIDIA Partners with Habitat for Humanity Globally
In 2011, six NVIDIA offices (India, Massachusetts, Alabama, North Carolina, St Louis and Portland, OR) held rebuilding day events in order to help local citizens receive safe and affordable places to live, some for the very first time. Employees hauled sheet rock, hung siding, installed attic stairs, and completed several carpentry projects. An employee volunteer remarked, "all-in-all, a great start to something I hope we can do every year." |
