Ecosystem Partnerships

While our community partners are important in connecting us with the greatest need in the community, our ecosystem partners help us dramatically increase the impact that we can have in the community. NVIDIA defines “ecosystem” as our network of customers, suppliers and partners, each of which play an important role in the success of our business. Below are some of the partners with whose help we’ve been able to provide greater benefit to the community.

GTC GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2010 – NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC) is just two years old but we’ve already started a great tradition of partnering with conference attendees to give back to society. We held a closing night party with a giving theme, and several hundred attendees donated over $4,500 to a youth cancer organization called Hope Lab. The NVIDIA Foundation matched with a $4500 donation, and these funds will go to distribute Hope Lab’s cancer awareness video game, Re-Mission, to thousands of youth globally.

Adobe Adobe – In 2009, we invited Adobe to roll out their Adobe Youth Voices program at Overfelt High School in East San Jose, California (Overfelt was the school we partnered with for our Project Inspire event). Within a few weeks, students were well on their way to using multimedia to tell the story of what they wanted to change in their community. See an example of one of the videos that was produced. We’re excited to continue this relationship in 2010 through a partnership with Franklin McKinley Community Center in San Jose, CA.

Fairmont Hotels – In 2009, Fairmont donated 10% of the room night and food revenue we generated during our GPU Technology Conference to the NVIDIA Foundation. This kicked off a three year partnership in which Fairmont will sponsor NVIDIA’s Project Inspire event. In 2010, they sponsored the building of an outdoor classroom/community gathering space at McKinley Elementary School in San Jose, CA.

Haier Haier – Our Beijing employees adopted 40 students from earthquake-ravaged Sichuan Province and provided them with new computers during their stay in Beijing while their homes and schools were being rebuilt.

Microsoft – Microsoft’s philanthropic mission is to make technology available to the world, so they were happy to partner with us to donate operating system and Office software to Overfelt High School during our Project Inspire event. This allowed us to bring 75 new computers to the school and give the kids faster access to technology and software applications to help them learn.

Webcor Webcor – Webcor has a rich history of community service and was interested in helping us revamp an old worn down greenhouse on the campus of Overfelt High School. They tore down the existing structure and helped to rebuild it. The school’s Green Academy will now use the greenhouse as a place to teach students about science in a hands-on fashion. Webcor also donated lumber for a wall that became the new home of a mural that has transformed the look of the neighborhood across from the school.
