Diversity

Our Commitment to Diversity
Each year, NVIDIA hosts several hundred interns from leading universities all over the world.

Diversity is a key focus at NVIDIA® - we want the best and brightest from every corner of the world. A diverse employee community brings valuable perspectives which allow us to innovate new and exciting products.

We are continually building programs and policies that encourage and support all lifestyles, ideals, and backgrounds, and we are committed to investing in employment programs and practices that are encouraging to everyone.

Diversity Proof Points

  • Over the past three years, our promote-from-within rate has been 14 – 15%. Approximately half of these promotions are employees with minority status.
  • We achieved a 25% increase in the hiring of women engineers last year.
  • Our promote-from-within rate of women moved from 13.2% to 17.5% over the past three years.

Community Partners

MentorNet

MentorNet, an NVIDIA partner since 2006, is an e-mentoring network for diversity in engineering and science. Their mission is to further the progress of women and others underrepresented in scientific and technical fields through the use of a dynamic technology-supported mentoring network and to advance individuals and society, and enhance engineering and related sciences, by promoting a diversified, expanded and talented global workforce. NVIDIA employees mentor undergrad, graduate and PhD students from all over the world.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.

NVIDIA partners with the Stanford Chapter to sponsor a program called Exploring New Worlds. NVIDIA feels strongly that these sorts of outreach projects are where we can have a real impact in promoting math and science engineering and creating a more diverse workforce in the future.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

NSBE is dedicated to the academic and professional success of African-American engineering students and professionals. NSBE offers its members leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, and career placement services.

Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) Grants

MESA’s mission is to develop academic and leadership skills, raise educational expectations and instill confidence in the nation’s African American, American Indian, Mexican American and other Latino American students within the fields of engineering, physical science and other math-based fields.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)

SHPE is a social-technical organization whose primary function is to enhance and achieve the potential of Hispanics in engineering, math and science, by increasing educational opportunities, promoting professional and personal growth.

Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID)

AVID is an in-school academic support program for grades 5-12 that prepares students for college eligibility and success, by placing academically average students in advanced classes. AVID levels the playing field for minority, rural, low-income and other students without a college-going tradition in their families.
