Additional information
  • Implemented workarounds for two Adobe Flash bugs by applying libvdpau commit ca9e637c61e80145f0625a590c91429db67d0a40 to the version of libvdpau shipped with the NVIDIA driver.
  • Fixed a bug in nvidia-settings that could cause the wrong resolution to be set in basic mode for setups based on one display per X screen.
  • Added /usr/lib/modprobe.d to the list of directories where nvidia-installer may optionally install a generated modprobe configuration file to attempt to disable Nouveau.

Installation instructions: Once you have downloaded the driver, change to the directory containing the driver package and install the driver by running, as root, tar xzf NVIDIA-FreeBSD-x86_64-304.108.tar.gz && cd NVIDIA-FreeBSD-x86_64-304.108 & make install

Then, edit your X configuration file so that the NVIDIA X driver will be used; this can normally be done by running nvidia-xconfig

Note that the list of supported GPU products is provided to indicate which GPUs are supported by a particular driver version. Some designs incorporating supported GPUs may not be compatible with the NVIDIA Linux driver: in particular, notebook and all-in-one desktop designs with switchable (hybrid) or Optimus graphics will not work if means to disable the integrated graphics in hardware are not available. Hardware designs will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so please consult with a system's manufacturer to determine whether that particular system is compatible.

See the README for more detailed instructions.
