Ray Tracing is the Future and Ever Will Be
NVIDIA Presenters: Alexander Keller, Tero Karras, Timo Aila, Samuli Laine
Monday, July 22, 02:00 PM - 5:15 PM

New technologies for parallel ray tracing and upcoming hardware have the potential to finally democratize ray tracing as a disruptive technology. While ray tracing usually is associated with photorealistic image synthesis, it could also overcome rasterization in mobile hardware.

Near-Eye Light-Field Displays
Sunday, July 21st | 12:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Monday, July 22nd - Wednesday July 24th | 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Thursday, July 25th | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Hall B – ET-200

Visit our Emerging Technologies exhibit in Hall B to experience virtual reality from a new perspective: by wearing a thin, lightweight head-mounted display (HMD). This system showcases our near-eye light field display technology, which depicts sharp images by synthesizing light fields corresponding to virtual scenes located within a viewer's natural accommodation range - eliminating the need for eyeglasses and addressing accommodation convergence conflict occurring with existing stereoscopic 3D displays. The accompanying technical talk on Monday describes how to optimize optical trade-offs between resolution, field of view, and form factor, and describes how to build your own HMD prototype using a pair of microlens-covered OLEDs.
